June 19, 200521 yr This team has most of the pieces it needs to win the division. They pitching has certainly been good enough to win it. It should get better when Alfonseca and Valdez return. Sure we could pick up another arm along the way to strengthen the back of the bullpen, but that isn't our biggest problem. One could argue the offense has all the pieces to be one of the highest run producers in the NL, but it just isn't getting done. Something needs to be done to turn it around. A change in hitting coach should be the first step, IMO.
June 19, 200521 yr This is the low point in this season. The team is playing like crap in the key areas of defense and relief pitching. The offense is not consistent either, but they do show the ability to launch a team out of the ballpark.
June 19, 200521 yr we'll see the hitting, pitching will stay strong, nats will cool off, just dont fall back too far while were down
