Where is Burns from?

Is he really better than Eric Reed?

He's from West Covina, Calif. was the Marlins third round pick in 04' was rated the second fastest player in that draft he compares to Mickey Rivers, Vince Coleman and Juan Pierre--all center fielders who could fly. Burns has been clocked at 6.4 seconds in the 60-yard dash and 3.6 second to first base on a drag bunt. quotes from BA, and he's playing in hte New-York Penn league he's one of Mordy's Jammers

A note, I really like what I've seen so far from Burns, I think this guy could be an on-base machine.? Seems like he's got a good eye at the plate.? So far today he's 1-1 with a bunt single and a walk.

great stuff fran, IMO Burns is the second best OF prospect behind Hermida in our farm system. He's problem early on he SO(7) alot, but he's OBP early is very good early on with a .429...but all in all good call :thumbup

yeah, he does need to cut down on the strike outs, but he's so young I think that will come. In my opinion, a lead off hitter can strike out some and still be successful, as long as he gets on base. It's more important for the 2nd hitter to be a good contact hitter. It's good to see he takes walks, unlike Reed who strikes out a lot and doesn't take walks.

fran, the kid still has some room to grow at 6'4'' 180, so power will come too

Also I see Gaby Sanchez(he's my sleeper of this draft) is playing 3B :whistle told you, he was IMO better than Braun back in 04' in the clutch. Last night the kid had 2 RBI while going 2-4, so far in three games 5 RBI's with HR and 2B... GO CANES :thumbup
