Herald:

Former Marlin Mike Mordecai won his first game as a manager Wednesday when the Jamestown Jammers (short-season Single A) defeated the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Mordecai is in his first season managing professionally but could be brought back to the Marlins in September to help him reach 10 years of service for pension purposes.

Why wait until September? Bring him up now! We have too many old geriatric coaches and need somebody like Mike to bring back the good vibes. That magic we had left us.

All in favor of bringing back Mordy say 'Aye'

When Mordy comes up in September it's supposed to be as a player/coach.

Cause I think Jamestown's year is done in September.

Mordy is where he's supposed to be. Getting experience managing the Jammers to increase his credentials as Jack's replacement next year.

I think it's really too optimistic to think that after three months of managing an entry level team Mordy (and I love the guy and expect he'll be considered) as a future Marlins manager) he'll be thought of as ready to manage a major league club, no matter how good a student of the game he is.

We don't need him as a player.

He has to suit up as a player to claim his 10-yr pension.

well he can suit up as a player and just ride the bench and help coach.

Bring him back now?!? Instead of Willingham? You must be on crack. We'll see him in September but not before then.

Thats who we need for advice. I think his knowledge will boost the players confidence.
