Gaineville TV?

Featured Replies

Hey, if any of you are in Gainesville...or maybe CapeFish could help me...

I just moved up to Gainesville and don't know the alternate Marlins station here (like when the games are on PAX in Miami)...any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Channel 72 is FSN on COX cable. If the fish are not on FSN they are on channel 67. If you live in a dorm you might not get 67 but FSN is on UF TV. Hope this helps, go gators!

Thanks for the help. I do live in a dorm, so I guess I don't get 67. Is there a radio station?

P.S. - I'm from Coral Springs too. :-P

No radio station in Gainesville for the Marlins. However Cox Sports Television on channel 67 is the Marlins TV affiliate in Gainesville. In 2006 FSN will have all 150 televised games.

damn! i lived in Broward Hall 2 yrs ago and we only had 37 channels! Where are you living on campus over the summer? I live on campus now on frat row. if you ever want to watch a big game that isn't on FSN let me know and I can hook you up, none of the sports bars get 67, they all have satellite but none of them have the MLB package to get games.

I'm living at Hume for summer and for fall, so I'm actually right by frat row :)

I could never watch any Marlins game when I lived in Beaty. It went up to 44 or something. Thank god they finally upgraded the cable so people can get games now.

The UF dorm campus cable is different from Gainesville Cox Cable. You will only get 40 or so channels, and it does not include FSN Florida. (unless they changed it over this summer)

I was only able to watch the Marlins last fall through MLB.tv and a proxy server.

I do have the channels that Capefish posted, all 70something.

THe best thing about channel 67 is that it doesn't show commercials and durings the mid innings, the camera guy zooms in on hot women.

Seriously, it's like watching closed caption TV. My favorite part - besides the no commercial part - is when they forget to turn the audio off in the booth and you can hear Tommy and Waltz talk smack about the other team (or which girl the camera guys are loving) in between innings.

They haven't really done it too much this year, but man - last year with Kasper and Tommy...those guys were hilarious together.

I do have the channels that Capefish posted, all 70something.

then today's game should have been on Cox Sports TV channel 67. Either Rays TV or Marlins TV...but someone. CST 67 has affiliations with both.

Does CST air the Hornets?

I do have the channels that Capefish posted, all 70something.

WTF, damn it did I get ripped!? They upgrade the cable nowwww... :mad

I hope that when FSN starts to show 150 games, they don't do what Sun Network does with the Heat and Magic. I don't think I would be able to stand to watch The Devil Rays 150 Times a year. and I can't even watch Panther games when they are on FSN. Even though the Lightning play on Sun. (Well, when they're playing.)

Its bad enough I get no Pax.

Damn. We only had like 37 channels last year. I feel like I got hosed.

Those rules are imposed by the NBA and NHL. The TV contracts they have for the Marlins and Devil Rays require that the games air statewide on FSN Florida.
