As ive continually said, every team slumps, and every team streaks.. i think at this point in the season, we may be able to start to SLOWLY come in to what we expect this team to be.

Im not talking about a huge run right now, but hitters that were slumping can start to come through. Our pitching may take its form at this point aswell. The bulpen situation will remail shaky IMO. Whether we win the division or not, i can't say yet, but we will be in the running. This team will live up to its name, and soon begin to show us its true power, if and ONLY IF the main parts can remain healthy on a CONSISTANT basis.

P.S. Post #500!

I'd like to hear where the board stands at this point through the season.

omgWillingham!!!!!!!!!!1111

Looks like our offense has gotten going again, i hope we dont score like one or two runs tommorow and leave RISP like we have been doing. When Lowell and JP get out of their slumps, thats when we will give the braves a good run in the race.

Olsen Rules!!

I think the season hinges on JP...He doesn't need to be great, but he needs to be better than he has been. If he can manage to get on base like we are used to seeing, this team will win alot of games with the way that the middle of the lineup can hit and the way the starting pitching has been. The bullpen will likely be shaky the rest of the way, but if the offense and starting pitching is there, we can afford a couple of bullpen lapses here and there...

Two wins in a row is the start of a winning streak!

Tonight's win gives us a reason to regain some optimism.

Let's see if we can keep it up.

how many times have we seen the 'when JP hits we win" stat... im with ya

We won a game against a team we should beat. We're two games over .500, and 5.5 out of the division. Why exactly should we declare the season salvaged?

I still maintain my position that the front-office needs to avoid the mistake of last season and make a decision regarding "in or out" on the 1st of July and not the 31st. What I mean is, this team is floundering (kind of like this time last year), and it's clear that the need for an impact bat and a set up or closer quality arm is needed for any realistic hope of a playoff-run. If Sheffield is available (as rumored) go get him. If Fuentes is "our guy" make the trade sooner than later. If we're set on Dunn, get it (forgive the pun) done. If we had made the LoDuca/Mota trade last season at this time, I'd have a hard time hearing explanations as to why we didn't make the playoffs. It's clear that the team needs help now, and the move needs to be made before damage is too far done to be irreparable.

Personally, I'm sold on this season still being winnable, but I'm not sold on this team.

I agree with you. Things certainly look better now than two days ago. But we should beat Tampa, they're awful. Let's give it ten games instead of trying to start "Told-you-so" posts after two games.

We won a game against a team we should beat.? We're two games over .500, and 5.5 out of the division.? Why exactly should we declare the season salvaged?

I hate Robinson (pretty evident) and I think removing the hitting coach lights a fire under the collective ass of the team because human nature causes them to feel bad for costing a guy his job, so they step it up to avoid future trade-aways or firings. My opinion is that we've won with this group of coaches, and a full overhaul on the 26th of June will do more harm than good.

I agree. We don't need a complete overhaul, just need to find a new hitting coach.

ive sene a pattern w/ this team as im sure everyone else has.

Its like lose 2 (low offense), then win 1 w/ huge outburst of offense. its so inconsistant its sick to watch. i shake my head cause you look at this team up and down, and yuou ask yourself how is this happening? my guess would have to be robinson. im sorry, hes not just the scapegoat hes the REASON. since last season ive said get rid of this guy.

is another dissapointing season worth it till somethi is done?

bullpen help and a more consistant lead off hitter would help. or a better hitting coach would wake up JP and well just have to worry about the bullpen.
