What do we know of this guy on the bosox. I have been told he is a great prospect and a blue chip. But, what do we really know?

With memories of his breakthrough 2002 fading, Ramirez?s stock continued to dip as he got off to an average start last year and then missed more than six weeks with a sprained wrist. He returned at the end of June and was exceptional over the rest of the season to reestablish himself as one of the game?s top shortstop prospects. Believing that Ramirez would be ready in 2006, the Red Sox made a lot of noise over the winter about only wanting a one-year solution at shortstop. They ended up signing Edgar Renteria anyway, suggesting that Ramirez will be moved in a trade sooner or later. He?s surely capable of shifting to second, third or even center field, but it would be a waste to use him anywhere other than his natural position. He?s a potential All-Star at shortstop.

This was given to me by a red sox fan upon another message board. (americanpasttime was the postered name) It seems they are really high upon him and dont want him traded.

In the Red Sox's minor league system, I have heard that Dustin Pedroia might be playing second base for the Red Sox next year. Keep an eye out for him.
