Posted July 1, 200519 yr I wrote to Jeb Bush regarding the Stadium in March and April, and I get this response now. WTF? Thank you for writing to Governor Jeb Bush expressing your views on funding for a new Florida Marlins baseball stadium. The Governor appreciates hearing your views and asked that I respond on his behalf. It may be helpful for you to know that legislation pertaining to funding for the Marlins? stadium was not adopted by the Legislature during its 2005 Regular Session. Please be assured that Governor Bush and his staff will carefully consider your comments and those of other Floridians if similar legislation is presented to him in the future. Again, thank you for taking the time to write to Governor Bush. Your thoughts are very important to him. Sincerely, Don Langston Policy Coordinator Governor?s Office of Policy and Budget
July 1, 200519 yr Since the session just closed they got caught up on the stuff. I got a letter from my Senator not too long ago.
July 1, 200519 yr I suggest calling one of the local radio stations about it. Getting it on the air ways might get a debate and folks talking of it. They are looking for topics now perhaps it will help get the word out. specially if you do it durring the times they are talking ot sampson on 790
July 5, 200519 yr I got the same letter with a few words changed around a year ago about admissions standards in Florida Colleges, due to standards in the Florida State University Chain, I'm attending school in Tennessee.

July 5, 200519 yr Does anyone know where I can write to him? Maybe if folks from around the nation start expressing concern he'll help us out.

Myers. my guess is that school admissions have gone the way of living expenses in Florida, wayyy up.
July 6, 200519 yr There are plenty of factors that go int oaccepting people into a university. Its common that one can get into a university that is ranked higher than one you didnt get into. What one would need to look at is how many applications a school is getting, when did you apply, how many more qualified students applied, what standards the school sets for itself, what kind of students are they looking for, what demographics are they looking for, size of entering class. Its all of those factors combined not just predetermined standards. the governors office cna do little to control these things.

It's a much better school. :whistle
July 6, 200519 yr Wouldn't you rather to go to Tennesse than Golf Coast though? It's a much better school. :whistle Well, while UT might be a bit better school, I'd still have preferred to go to a school in Florida, where I'm from, I was accepted to St. Thomas University and the University of Tampa, but the tuition at those schools are so high. but yeah, Florida has so many people trying to go to school here, it's hard.. the funny thing is that im in the freshman class at TSU in Nashville and have already met 20 other Floridians that are at TSU due to not being able to get into a FL College.
July 6, 200519 yr The governor is not the issue. The issue was the Florida Senate. 840853[/snapback] Because Jeb Bush would never encourage the Senate.
