Posted July 3, 200519 yr Pierre didn't hesitate to steal first? The Marlins are being aggressive again on the basepaths? Did jack disassemble the brakes that he placed on our runners? Can it be that Jack may have heard or been told that alot of people are tired of waiting around for the 3-run homer that usually cames in the 3rd game of a series while the Marlins lose the first 2? Or is it the move of a desperate man trying to keep his job by trying what everyone else says he should be doing? I know that the catcher was Piazza, but they seemed a little more aggressive the night before in their loss and that was against Castro. Whatever the case, let the aggression continue. I still say that a change needs to be done. Robinson still defenitely needs to go and I would say Jack too, but that's Admin Beinfest's decision. Even if the Marlins start to win consistently, I won't give Jack credit for starting to do what he heard from some other source. He's already shown that he would like to sit back and wait for the 3-run homer. A person that should be in the running to be our new manager is whoever it was that convinced Jack to let the players be aggressive instead of himself sitting and forcing them to play the "base-to-base" style of baseball.
July 3, 200519 yr Do you use the "cut & paste" feature because you post the same thing about every other day.
July 3, 200519 yr I think you're right. The Marlins are playing more small-ball now and it is paying off. I think the team is composed of naturally aggressive players... it's important to be active on the basepaths because it probably pumps them up and gives them a bit more passion. I say let JP and Luis do their thizzle, steal some bases, and be aggressive.
July 3, 200519 yr This may be because of the game that they won against the Braves, you know the 13 inning game? Got them pumped up, and now their playing better.
