I read that originaly the Red Sox had offered us Henly Ramirez (who if Im correct is there top prospect and a SS) and Bronson Arroyo, but the Marlins wanted to be greedy, and get more. Now I think the trade is pulled off the table including Henly Ramirez, and now its just Arroyo and someone else.... That would of solved two problems for next year. It takes care of the 1 of 5 starters, and a future SS to take over Gonzalez.

I dont know of putting vargas up there. I would rather put up Johnson. Whom has an amazing high side (possible number 1 starter wher vargas is more a 3-4 guy) but needs a bit more time to get red. The sox have the time with their starting rotation to develope him some too.

I love it how everyone thinks that Maverick's crude one-liners are always correct. :)

I am curious anyone know the details of this 3 team deal with the padres and Bosox and us?

someone asked for hanely's stats here they are

26. Hanley Ramirez - SS Red Sox - Age 21 - ETA: April 2006

Previous rankings: 2003 #27, mid-2003 #33, 2004 #48, mid-2004 #88

.400/.462/.500, 0 HR, 7 RBI, 3/2 K/BB, 1 SB in 20 AB for Rookie GCL Red Sox

.310/.364/.389, 1 HR, 24 RBI, 39/17 K/BB, 12 SB in 239 AB for Single-A Sarasota

.310/.360/.512, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 26/10 K/BB, 12 SB in 129 AB for Double-A Portland

With memories of his breakthrough 2002 fading, Ramirez?s stock continued to dip as he got off to an average start last year and then missed more than six weeks with a sprained wrist. He returned at the end of June and was exceptional over the rest of the season to reestablish himself as one of the game?s top shortstop prospects. Believing that Ramirez would be ready in 2006, the Red Sox made a lot of noise over the winter about only wanting a one-year solution at shortstop. They ended up signing Edgar Renteria anyway, suggesting that Ramirez will be moved in a trade sooner or later. He?s surely capable of shifting to second, third or even center field, but it would be a waste to use him anywhere other than his natural position. He?s a potential All-Star at shortstop.

I dont see us trading for a catcher prospect. That doesnt fit us or our needs one bit. We just drafted one we have 2 good young catchers (trainer's defense is great) for behind loduca and we have paul for the next few years too.

hey fish79, who are our 2 young catchers?

Willingham is not a catcher... although he plays on tv
