August 10, 200323 yr (quote originally posted by marlins02 What has he done? Marlin where have you been man?!?!?! Here is Green Bay Packers Head Coach/General Manager Mike Sherman's track record... - He is 2nd in Wins among all head coaches in the NFL since he's Head Coach in Green Bay. - 1 NFC North Division Championship - The best first 3 year winning percentage of any coach in PACKERS HISTORY. - Consecutive 12-4 seasons (something I don't recall the Dolphins EVER doing). - 2 Playoff Appearances - 3 Winning Seasons - No Losing Seasons That's not a bad list of accomplishments for Sherman. :thumbup :thumbup you dont say... other than the 12-4 records, how is that much better than Wannstedt Wannstedt: also 3 winnining seasons: overall 31-17, Sherman:33-15, damn huge difference especially in a weak division also 2 playoff appearances, i believe the same record for his team: 1-2 1 AFC EAST division title, which is a hell of a lot more tougher to win than the NFC north and finished tied for 1st in 2001 but lost the tie breaker with NE also no losing seasons in Miami you can say Sherman never had the records Wannstedt had in Chicago, but GB has had better teams than Chicago had when he was there. im not defending Wannstedt, im just saying dont go crazy trashing the man and mention all these other guys you think are so much better before actually thinking about it.
August 10, 200323 yr I do think about it. And Wannstedt's just an idiot. You guys would be worlds better with anyone as a Head Coach. He doesn't promote team chemistry and he doesn't coach. He makes his coaches do their own thing and not really follow a system. Nothing you say will convince me that Wannstedt can even Coach Pop Warner football.

August 10, 200323 yr Well you make it seem like Wannstedt's only been in Miami. His total record is awful. Fact is he just didn't do it in Chicago. I'll take Sherman or Mooch before Wanny any day. I'll take basically anyone over Wanny.

I'll take basically anyone over Wanny. thats a little better. but i do have one more question or scenario really. that was a while ago when he was in Chicago, where he didnt have much. could it be possible that he's learned from his first coaching experience and also he had some bad teams while Sherman took over a good team in an easy division? just trying to make you think a little also i did point out that his overall playoff record in Miami and Chicago isnt really different from Marriuci's. 2-3 for DW, 3-4 for Mariruci. im done for tonight man, ill see youre answer tommorow
August 10, 200323 yr Well actually Sherman entered with a mediocre team in a good division. - Minnesota went 11-5 and went to the NFC Championship in Sherman's rookie year. - Chicago went 13-3 in a fluke in Sherman's 2nd year.
August 10, 200323 yr He doesn't promote team chemistry I'm pretty sure the reason he brought in Seau was because of team chemistry. He's also made several other pick-ups to that effect.
August 10, 200323 yr Brian Griese and Dead Head Dave (Wannstedt) alone will ruin your team chemistry NO MATTER WHO YOU BRING/BROUGHT IN.
August 10, 200323 yr Brian Griese and Dead Head Dave (Wannstedt) alone will ruin your team chemistry NO MATTER WHO YOU BRING/BROUGHT IN. These guys love Dave! I guarentee you that Wanny would have been out of here two years ago if Zach or Jason or Patrick or Sam had a problem playing for him. And again, with Brian Griese, you have NO CLUE what you're talking about. Everybody knows that Griese is a happy-go-lucky guy that is friendly with everyone. Hell, him and Jay, the two guys competing for the starting spot, have supposedly become close friends in their short time knowing each other.
August 10, 200323 yr Wild Card GET A CLUE! Grieses bad influence was the whole reason Denver cut him besides cap issues! Get a clue kid! Griese was always in trouble with Shannahan, and was a jerk to almost everyone on the team. Probably because he thinks since his daddy's a hall of famer he should be treated like his Dad. Griese is HATED throughout the league. And in Miami, you watch, sooner or later, he'll do something stupid and him and Dead Head Dave will go at it and his teammates will turn against him. In College while at Michigan he was suspended once for fighting with his teammates. His teammates in Michigan hated him, and often times dogged it when he was out there playing because they didn't like him. Same thing happened in Denver.
August 10, 200323 yr His teammates in Michigan hated him, and often times dogged it when he was out there playing because they didn't like him. Same thing happened in Denver. That's the stupidist thing I've ever heard. Players aren't going to not play at their best because of a personal issue with a player. NO player would throw a game because they hate a teamate. And I have NO CLUE where you get this idea of Griese as a hated player, anyway! He's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! He started a damn community center type house for chilren who lost a parent. He pays for every dime of it out of his own pocket. They have on in Denver, and he plans on opening one in Miami, as well. Where do you get this idea that he is hated? You're the only person I've EVER heard this from.
August 10, 200323 yr Wild Card you moron! It was all over ESPN!!!! It was in Sports Illustrated! Go to Broncos.com Read some old magazines from Michigan 7 Months ago in a big ten publication 3 PLAYERS admitted to doggin it on more then one occasion in Michigan because of Griese. 3 PLAYERS. Griese may have done community centers and what not. Thats great it really is. But his teammates in Denver HATED him. And there has been NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS in many many credible publications like ESPN The Magazine where its been accounted that Griese's teammates don't like him ONE BIT. But he hasn't done anything in Miami to piss them off yet. You ever see John Claytons big piece on Sportscenter a few months back on how it could be a "New Beginning" for Griese because Miami could be a place where he has an opportunity to get along with his teammates? That may have been useful if you ever saw the piece.

That may have been useful if you ever saw the piece. I thought John Clayton didn't know anything. And you know what, I won't try and deny his past, but I'm saying he has fit in quite well in Miami. He has befriended Jay Fiedler especially. Nobody has heard of any problems.
August 10, 200323 yr Well I was never referring to his current tunure with the Fins. But don't be surprised when Griese fu*cks things up.
