Florida State League...

Featured Replies

anybody on here been to a FSL game, or been to more than one venue. If you have do you recommend it or if you've been to more than one, which would you recommend over the other.

For some reason Ive always wanted to go to a minor league game, but living in a major league area it was a waste of time. Now that Im at UCF 3/4th of the year I may just go, but wanna see if its worth it ahead of time if possible. Im not expecting Marlins level play, just some affordably priced decent quality entertainment and not just with the team.

Yeah FSL games are great. Its known as a "pitchers" league. Ive been to Jupiter, Port St Lucie and Vero. All three locations are great. My favorite being Vero, "Dodgertown" is great. Port St Lucie which houses the Mets is a great stadium as well, if you go on Thursdays they have dollar beer and hot dogs and $2 tickets. Jupiter's location is great also. The stadium is brand new and the area is really nice, plus you get to see the baby Marlins. I highly recommend going to a FSL game.

FSL games are real value in they usually don't charge for parking a ticket is $5 or less and the food is a lot cheaper than a MLB game. The Lakeland Tigers are close to me so I go to a few games each season especially when the Hammerheads are in town. I also check to see when players are on rehab and got to see Kerry Wood pitch in Daytona a few years ago. The facilities in the FSL are big league so if you've been to a spring training game you've got an idea of the quality of the stadium. I like Tampa's Legends field the best.

I've been to hundreds of games at Space Coast stadium watching the Brevard County Manatees play...they were the Marlins affiliate, then the Expos, and now the Brewers. Anyways, it's pretty good baseball, and it's affordable. I've seen plenty of future stars come through the system: Millar, Renteria, Podsednik, etc.
