Gonzalez batting 5th

Featured Replies

Did anyone else see a big time intensity from Alex tonight at the plate? To me, it looked like he was very excited at the opportunity to bat 5th in the lineup again after strugging in the spot last night, and stepped up. Not only did he have that huuuge shot off the wall in the 8th, but also drew two walks! I think it was an excellent decision to stick with him at 5th in the order tonight, and he came through.

What are your thoughts?

He's the best option for the spot right now...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a great thing.

I mean, in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king, but he still only has one eye...

It was great seeing him in the 5 hole, but it's highly unlikely he'll remain there now with ENC back and Lo Duca and Delgado about to return.

He was awesome. If nobody returns today I want to see him hitting 5th again. If anything I don't want to see him hitting 8th again. There is more pressure to put the ball in play batting 8th due to the pitcher hitting next, so someone like Treanor who has a better batting eye would perform better there.
