Sin City

Anyone seen it? I will usually watch anything with Jessica Alba, since shes by far the hottest woman on the face on the planet, but since so many comic book movies are done badly(Spawn, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Bulletproof Monk), I am skeptical. Is it any good?

Freaking awesome movie. So far, my favorite of 05. Highly stylized, just an amazing movie. Great plot, tons of gore, hot women, and a funny as hell. Really nothing you can ask more of from a movie.

What a find really funny though is Robert Rodriguez followed Sin City up with "The adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl" :plain

Great movie. One of the better comic-book to film movies.

***Graphic Novel to film...

:mischief

havent seen the movie but I hear its good

one thing is certain

it has a beyond amazing soundtrack

Mr. Rodriguez has done it again

I didn't get to see it at....but I'm going to get the DVD based on the good things I've heard.

I've seen it, I own all the graphic novels.

Almost panel-by-panel it is a direct translation of the comic (which is why Miller got co-director credit and why Rodrigez left the Director's Guild). In all it's gory, bloody, glory. It's a story of dames, hookers and fella's with fedoras. In a post apocolyptic 20's/80's version of California. A mix of Raymond Chandler and Robocop.

I'm disappointed with the DVD's because there's nor trailer. But other than that, if you just want the film it's worth it.

However, word of warning, 98% of girls/women HATE this movie.

Pretty good movie. All style, no story, though.

It was basically like two short stories, and one medium-length one, if I remember correctly, and they had very little to do with each other. So it took a few minutes to get into each new vignette, but other than that it was pretty fun. I don't know how well it'll translate to the small screen, though, considering it's all about style.

That's not a problem. I won't be entertaining women in the near future. :plain

Allright, thanks for all the info. Jessica Alba was darn near enough to make me see it, but I also don't like watching bad movies so I wanted to make sure. As far as gals go, I got plenty of movies you can watch with them. I bought Bring It On specifically for that purpose.

Oh a masturbation joke, how original. And no, Bring it On is a movie gals wont complain about watching, same as The Notebook, which my ex made me watch about 5 times. If not for Rachael McAdams it would of been a completely bad experience.

Nah I want the trailer and that's it. I don't need that other extraneous crap not to watch.
