August 19, 200520 yr I have been checking out some mock drafts for the 2006 football season. (curious on thoughts on final records and possible players). This kid has been rated as a top 5 draft pick next year in some drafts (going right behind Leinhart even sometimes). I am curious, why so high on him?

And we'll see about Bowling Green, it all depends on their defense. No one is going to stop them. If their defense can hold teams to 30 points a game, they'll win 10 games.

August 19, 200520 yr Omar is amazing. He has great arm strength, accuracy, size and can run. However, I feel his delivery will be disected by NFL scouts and this will cause him to drop some in the draft, since it is extremely awkward. But count me on on the OJ Bandwagon.

The Oklahoma loss ok ovbiously he should have lost that game. NIU and Toledo are not much more talented teams then Bowling Green is. He only put up 17 @NIU and absolutley blew it in the 2nd half @ Toledo. He went 29-42 for 275 and no touchdowns against a BAD NIU defense, and got outscored 32-14 in the second half of the Toledo game. He needs to beat his main competition.

August 20, 200520 yr The kid is an incredible talent. The only game last year I really saw the BGSU offense not just torch the other team was the NIU matchup I went to last year (BGSU lost 34-17, but that was because Garrett Wolfe and the NIU running game never let the offense get on the field), and I think he has around 300 yards even in that game. Jacobs is very smart, he finds the open receiver, is willing to throw to the checkdown man, and if nothing is there, he uses his plus mobility to avoid sacks, and will throw the ball away or pick up what he can running. Arm strength is very good, accuracy is very good. The ONLY real weakness I think he has is he has a hitch in his delivery of the ball, and short arms it a bit, as a result he gets some balls knocked down. I really hope nobody messes with that delivery though, he's 6'4 and it's worked for him so far (although the delivery change hasn't really hurt David Carr I guess). If he stays healthy, Jacobs goes pro after his junior year this year and goes top 10 overall, if not higher.

BG moved to the east, so no NIU game this year, which helps him since NIU is the one MAC team with a good enough running game to keep him off the field for most of the game, but they still finish the year with games at Miami of Ohio, then home in a cross divisional vs. Toledo. OOC they have 2 VERY tough games, opening at Wisconsin and also playing at Boise State (which could be game of the year, anywhere). Methinks they split the at Wisky and at Boise State duo as well as the at Miami (OH) and Toledo finish, while winning all their others games, to go 9-2 and possibly make the MAC Title game.
