No matter what people might think of AJ and how hes just gonna go for the big bucks next year, he has a huge emotional bond to the Marlins and seeing how this might be his last year with the team, he wants to end it out with a bang. He admits his own faults and says us meaning the team and thats how it should be. Hes pitched great and has really been a cheerleader in the club house. :thumbup
August 25, 200521 yr you knew the pitching staff couldnt be incredible forever... its time for the offence to score alot of runs every game. when is the last time we had an exciting late inning comeback. aj made a quote about the fans and we respondedby coming out. hopefully this sparks the players. aj isnt pudge when it comes to leadership but hes getting pretty close

What AJ has been, besides the defacto leader of the team, these last few months is what we all knew he could be: unhittable, intimidating, captain, workhorse, and championship mentality. I've always said Big Tex is the team leader, but nowadays AJ is challenging that. Not challenging it in a bad way, but basically telling Josh(and the rest of the team) to follow his lead. AJ and Josh feeding off eachother can do nothing but produce positive results. This statement by AJ says he is willing to throw the team on his back and carry them to greatness, but he'd rather have everyone walking side by side.

He's a good pitcher, but let's be rational here. Like there's a set basement for Burnett, there's a set ceiling for the club. Don't ignore that.
