August 30, 200521 yr Deivi Cruz to Nats; Jason Christiansen to Angels SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The San Francisco Giants made a pair of trades Tuesday, sending infielder Deivi Cruz to the Washington Nationals and reliever Jason Christiansen to the Los Angeles Angels for three minor leaguers. The deals came a day before the Aug. 31 deadline for traded players to be eligible for the postseason
August 31, 200521 yr the Giants are building for next year, betting on Barry coming back...we traded for two guys that can contribute next year (Winn and Hawkins), and we're dumping all the guys that are free agents after this year and not coming back...Grissom, Rueter, Christiansen, Cruz, Tucker...Brett Tomko would probably be gone if not for the waiver issues, and JT would also go if he wasn't such a fan favorite The Giants started out as one of the oldest teams in baseball, and are now one of the youngest...we now have 10 rookies on the roster, and another 3 who were rookies last year
September 3, 200521 yr Deivi Cruz is a good player, who did some really good things for the Giants. He was huge for us a couple of years ago when Neifi Perez couldn't do the job (figures he's go to the Cubs and have a great year)... Jason Christiansen has lost it. I was scared to see that the Marlins were interested in him... Like Mays24Bonds25 said, the Giants are rebuilding and the team is already looking much better... with guys like Todd Linden, Scott Munter, Lance Niekro.. and we now have Armando Benitez back.. Jason Schmidt back to form and Noah Lowry pitching like Cy Young for a little over a month now... This was a really bad year for Los Gigantes, but the pieces are there to come back strong next year... Although, I'm not completely giving up home on this year yet... 6 1/2 games out of 1st.... =)
September 5, 200521 yr Jason Christiansen has lost it. I was scared to see that the Marlins were interested in him... 927661[/snapback] True, what a waste.........
September 5, 200521 yr With Vidro injured and Jamey Carroll being held back for a bench role, meet the Nat's new double play combination: Deivi Cruz and Cristian Guzman!
