Racquetball

Featured Replies

Who plays that ish? It's so addictive. I was working out at the gym, but I find myself more intrigued by the 'challenge courts'.

I went out and bought a glove and racquet. It's a very fun and competitive sport....

Anyone else play?

I should try it, Steve does it so I'm inspired but alas I'm lazy

Why do we call him Steve? I remember when we started that, but I don't remember the reason.

If you can call him Steve, then I will call Miguel Cabrera "Tonto"

It's a reference to the running joke of Trader Jack calling players the wrong name, and Jack's name for Jeff was Steve. And also supposedly Jack is still calling him that as a running gag. Hope that helps.

We didn't start it, Jack did.

I meant 'started' as in started talkin about it.

I've been playing on and off for two years. Currently I play 3-4 times a week.

I play on the 'challenge' courts at school sometimes. The kids there are very serious. I am a novice, so they usually spank me like 15-1. But I'm getting better at reading the ball, and hitting kill shots.

I'm sure I'd get smoked on the challenge courts too. But I've definitely come a very long way. The person I usually play with is really good, so I've learned a lot from him. Still, I've only beat him maybe twice ever.

I'm so used to playing tennis, it's really a tough transition. Instead of hitting up (over the net), you're supposed to hit down into the corners.

And this 'hitting off the wall' business really gets tricky :)
