September 28, 200521 yr Okay, here are some gold glove/mvp winning first basemen. These are their numbers based on an average season. Who makes it, who doesn't? [no cheating - use your gut!] run hits hrs rbis bbs bav obp slg 141 204 37 149 113 .340 .447 .632 101 141 50 122 114 .263 .394 .588 087 174 27 103 071 .287 .359 .476 129 203 41 130 078 .333 .413 .624
September 28, 200521 yr Depends on how many seasons were played at their "average" season level. If these are active guys, I'm guessing that #1 is Helton and #4 is Pujols. I'd put 1, 2 and 4 in the Hall...
September 28, 200521 yr 4 has gotta be Pujols.. I didnt cheat.. The Numbers just look right.. 2 is Big Mac aswell. With that said, Pujols has put up amazing numbers his 5 first years that only a couple hall of famers have. It's only 5 years so I'm trying not to get too excited because something could happen to him or he could fall off or whatnot but if he continues to do what he's doing for a big longer he's getting in.
September 28, 200521 yr Author Interesting answers so far... Again, don't try to guess who they are - just pick based on your gut and the numbers in front of you. Next one will be much tougher... :mischief2
September 29, 200521 yr Author Okay - here were your choices: 1. Lou Gehrig - can you imagine his numbers if he hadn't contracted ALS? The man was a baseball God. 2. Mark McGwire - it will be interesting to see how the steroids allegations affect his vote count. 3. Eddie Murray - I told you I'd make it a little tougher! Consistency over a long period of time helped. 4. Alert Pujols - His numbers so far have been incredible. The fact that he can hold his own against these three speaks volumes about his talent.
September 29, 200521 yr 1st =1079 OPS 2nd = 982 ops 3rd = 835 OPS 4th = 1037 ops pretty amazing OPS all around, my eyes the most telling stat in baseball.
