Rivera received 39,964 votes, about 33 percent of the total. Rivera helped New York win its eighth consecutive AL East title, finishing with 43 saves in 47 opportunities. He had a 1.38 ERA and struck out 80 in 78.1 innings. DHL, the award's sponsor, will donate $5,000 in Rivera's name to a local chapter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
