August 22, 200323 yr are you crazy? Encarnacion has a gun in right ..amazing arm he has an above average bat, and i think he's gonna hvae a breakout year next year. There are lots of RFs with guns for arms, and no, he does not have an above average bat. He has a below average bat. Compare him to other starting RFs in baseball, and it's easy to see that Encarnacion comes up way short. Of course, it's not entirely his fault. He's a CF that's being forced to play RF by JP and management's inability to get a proper RF. If he was in CF, Encarnacion would actually be decently productive relative to his position. As it is now, he sucks. Beinfeist should've let him go and kept Kevin Millar. Millar is more productive and costs less.
August 22, 200323 yr Didnt we say last season that this season would be his breakout year.... It's been at least 3 years where Juan Encarnacion's next season was supposed to be his breakout season.

August 22, 200323 yr not sure if "he sucks" is what i'd go with, keep in mind he is still 2nd on the team in RBIs (and i realize some of that just comes from hitting 5th in the order but regardless...) but i admit i was hoping for a bit of a breakout season from Juan. i wasn't expecting a .310 average necessary, but what's he have now...13 homers? ugh. our starting outfield from the beginning of the season has maybe 16 combined homers. that's like record-setting levels of badness. thank goodness cabrera's coming along well.
August 22, 200323 yr he's on pace for 100 rbis, he is very fast, he has power and he's set for a breakout season You could stick just about any MLB starting RF in Juan Encarnacion's spot, and they'd be on pace for 100 RBI (assuming they stayed healthy). RBI isn't a good measure of individual performance. While he may be fast, he doesn't steal a whole lot of bases; so his speed isn't worth much.
August 22, 200323 yr he has 14 hr's true he doesnt have alot but he's a doubles hitter he's in the leader board in triples he has over 130 hits which and according to espn is on pace for 160 which is an understatment cuz he's hot right now. assuming he gets 160 that would be more than Castillo last year, more than Derrek Lee last year, and More than Mike Lowell last year
