November 2, 200520 yr UTD is meeting with Crew tomorrow at 1 Pm to figure out how to make up the days. UTD emailed a survey to all the members to rank the choices in order to get our input and said a combination of these will be needed. The choices were: -Replace remaining Planning Days with Student Contact Days. -Replace remaining Early Release Days with Student Contact time. -Replace any of the remaining Paid Legal Holidays (Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day)with Student Contact Days. -Replace any upcoming recess days (Friday after Thanksgiving, Winter Recess, Spring Recess)with Student Contact Days. -Extend the workday in order to provide additional Student Contact time. -Add additional days to the end of the 2005-06 school year. (Remember you have already been paid for these days) Where's my survey? And I've been on the UTD website and this: Schools to Open Thursday - Members Input Needed on Make Up Days MDCPS personnel and students will return to school Thursday, November 3. UTD President Karen Aronowitz will be meeting with Superintendent Dr. Rudy Crew Wednesday at 1 p.m. to discuss how student contact days will be made up. Crew stated that seniors would be able to reschedule SAT dates and can receive online support for any preparation time missed. He also said that county and utility officials have assured him that all debris will be removed from school campuses by the end of the day today and 80 percent of the traffic lights near schools will be functional by 6 a.m. Thursday. Those crosswalks where power has not been restored will have added traffic guards on duty. Aronowitz is seeking input from UTD members prior to her Wednesday meeting with the Superintendent. November 3, 200520 yr Too many traffic lights out... I left my house at 6:35 @ 135 ave. and by 7:25 I was by 127 ave and miller. I had to turn back because the car was heating up and not enough gas to last me another hour. Going to try again at 9:30-10:00.
November 3, 200520 yr It took me almost an hour to get to work- usually a 20-25 minute trip. And I suspect it will remain this way for a few weeks.
