wanks1212
Of course, this is all speculation that should be taken with a grain of salt - especially since they have the Marlins reacquiring a pitcher they traded last year at the deadline. They also list Willingham and Stokes as possibilities to be traded, but leave out any mention of Castillo being shipped out. Paul Lo Duca - Marlins - The Marlins will probably need to dump salary and Lo Duca is owed $12.5 million over the next two years. He's behind Mike Lowell, Carlos Delgado and Juan Pierre in line to be shipped off, but if the Diamondbacks, Padres or Astros come in with the right offer, the Marlins shouldn't be afraid to move him. If he's worth $6 million per year, it's just barely. Trade possibility: To Diamondbacks for RHP Greg Aquino and C Chris Snyder Prediction: Stays Carlos Delgado - Marlins - Despite a backloaded contract that calls for him to earn $48 million over the next three years or $60 million for four years, Delgado is reportedly receiving interest from the Orioles, Mariners and Mets. The Marlins would prefer to find a team willing to take on the whole amount rather than get actual talent in return for him. Unless GM Admin Beinfest is given a larger budget to work with than currently anticipated, Delgado is probably a goner. Trade possibility: To Mariners for C Rob Johnson and RHP Mike Flannery Prediction: Goes Mike Lowell - Marlins - The Marlins tried to dump Lowell's contract by attaching him to A.J. Burnett at the trade deadline. Since that didn't work, they'll have to eat a portion of the $18 million he's owed over the next two years. Even though he's been in a slump for a year and a half, a team like the Pirates, Rays, Orioles, Twins or Dodgers might be willing to take him on. Trade possibility: To Pirates for 3B Ty Wigginton and LHP Shane Youman Prediction: Goes Juan Pierre - Marlins - Pierre could make $6 million in his final year of arbitration eligibility, and the Marlins aren't as high on him as they were a year ago. There have been reports that he could go to the Cubs in exchange for Corey Patterson, and the Yankees, Red Sox, Diamondbacks and Dodgers are among the other teams that could be interested. Trade possibility: To Cubs for OF Corey Patterson and LHP Rich Hill Prediction: Goes http://www.rotoworld.com/content/story.asp...B&storyid=17573

PBMarlin
Of the candidates mentioned above, it seems most unlikely they'll move LoDuca as quality catching is difficult to find.
Marlins2003
Once again Matt proves he is just pulling names out of his butt. LoDuca for a an injured reliever and a .200 hitting catcher with zero D. Delgado for a Class A catcher and a pitcher who we traded as a throw-in in the Villone trade, who has underperformed for four years in the minors. Lowell for ANOTHER third baseman, lol, and a AA pitcher who blew up in the AFL And lastly Pierre for an expensive and troubled Corey Patterson and the one guy out of the bunch you would want, Rich Hill. Yeah, Matt has no idea what the f he's talking about. He's just making things up. The Marlins have no need for another third baseman. At the very least, he should do enough research to know that Miggy will be playing third base if Lowell is traded.
