November 23, 200520 yr So they've spent $20 million on Bobby Howry, Neifi Perez, and Glendon Rusch? :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
November 23, 200520 yr Looks like they're doing their transactions backwards from the way you normally do it.. usually you get the role players and bullpen guys last but their getting them first... because you know they'll probably make a play at Furcal or Giles later on. Kind of a weird approach.

I think these are good additions but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaying for them but hey.. It's the Cubs.. If they wanna do that, let em.. I have no worries :lol
November 24, 200520 yr Eyre: 2.63 ERA, 86 G, 68.1 IP, 1.08 WHIP...33 Years Old Howry: 2.47 ERA, 79 G, 73 IP, 0.89 WHIP...32 Years Old I would say that is how he would command more money then Eyre. I wanted the Red Sox to go after Howry, but I guess they are concentrating more on BJ Ryan.
November 24, 200520 yr Howry isn't that great... from what I've heard to all the Sox fans I've talked to, the guy is a heart attack each inning.. and can't see the plate. Cubs gave up way to much money for him

November 25, 200520 yr Author how the hell does Bob Howry get a larger contract than Scott Eyre? Yes, how is it that of nearly identical pitchers, the player that signs later is able to ask for more money? How is that possible? That defies market principals@!! (note sarcasm)
