Nov. 27 PHILADELPHIA ? Mardy Collins scored 19 points and had seven assists, and Dustin Salisbery added 16 points to lead Temple to a 73-56 win over Miami on Sunday.

With Temple (2-1) stretching its lead to 16 points in the final minutes, an object was thrown on the court, temporarily halting play and drawing the ire of coach John Chaney. He grabbed the microphone and told the crowd it wasn't Temple's way to be seen as "idiots."

"Stupid is forever," Chaney told the crowd. "You can't change stupidity."

Anytwane Robinson added 15 points and Mark Tyndale scored 12 for the Owls.

Collins' play certainly put a smile on his crusty coach's face. With dozens of NBA scouts in attendance to watch the potent point guard, Collins delivered the clutch steals and baskets late in the second half that sealed the win.

Miami (4-2) kept cutting away at Temple's double-digit lead in the second half, only to waste any serious run with turnovers and poor shot selection against the always-tough matchup zone. When the Hurricanes pulled to 38-32, Robinson scored five straight points and Collins added a basket.

Again, Miami came charging and Denis Clemente, who scored 19 points, hit a 3 that made it 51-47.

Tyndale again answered with two free throws and a fastbreak dunk and Collins hit a 3 to make it 58-49. Salisbery and Collins each scored two points off their own steals to help the Owls push the lead to 68-52. Collins' emphatic dunk shortly after put the finishing touches on the win.

Robert Hite scored 18 points for Miami.

Salisbery carried the Owls in the first half, missing only one of his six shots and hitting all three 3-pointers for 13 points. Temple made 11 of its first 15 shots from the floor, built an 18-point lead and led 36-22 at halftime.

I think he was calling FeLo stupid....That's John's normal way.....very old-fashioned.....he's called Philadelphia fans stupid multiple times.....I don't care and neither should you.

That's awesome. I don't even see what he did wrong. Don't throw stuff on the court.

Agreed. I dont see anything wrong with this either...searching for something that isnt there FeLo?

Wow after seeing the replay of it on ESPN I was way off with my comments. If anything, more people should do what Chaney did. I definatley misread the story.

My bad

Anybody see the Nebraska-Colorado game last friday? Stupid Colorado fans were throwing so much sh*t on the field, it was ridiculous. The game was delayd about 5 different times. By the end of the game security had pretty much cleared out the students section. The announcers (Mike Tirico and some other guy) must've said "this is such an embarassment for the University of Colorado" about 10 times. :lol

"this is such an embarassment for the University of Colorado"

There's a phrase we haven't heard before.
