He'll be at 1B most if not all of the time.

It's interesting because there was an article where Jacobs said he wanted to continue to catch even though he was learning a new position... I think he was a catcher his whole career, so who knows, even though some newspaper said the plan was to play him at first, I wouldn't put it out of the question, especially with the current options.

And how do you get "two full years" Rferry buddy since he had surgery in 2004 and didn't come back until 2005, I don't know.

Yeah, Jacobs is done as a catcher, but he seems to be of the opinion that he can still do it. He'll be our first baseman.

Although not in the same number of games, obviously, Jacobs' fielding percentage is lower than Delgado's '05 campaign. Just let the kid play first and concentrate on hitting.

I said in another post that I'm sure if it was an emergency (see Mordy) he could catch for a inning or two, but if the team really has longterm plans for him, one off-balance throw or a collision at the plate could mean losing him for a year or worse. I doubt they would risk it having him catch everyday. The risk/reward doesn't pay off his the Fish.
