  1. Not quite sure what you're saying, other than it seems you're getting carried away a bit. Look, the rotation with the exception of Alvarez is cratering. Wish all this babying of Heaney will come to an end, his arm is needed now, not in a month, not in two weeks, now. Not saying we'll be staying in the race with him though I think our chances are better, but without him and the staff performing as it currently is, the handwriting is definitely on the wall. Pace Heaney's innings with the big club, not at New Orleans. Haha anger took over and wrote that. There's a part in the article where the claim they want to save his arm for September so they won't call him up yet. The way I see it, this makes no sense, that imply's them expecting him to make some sort of impact in the play off race (why else mess with his starts, saying ok he'll start sometimes but not all the time to avoid a 2012 strasburg incident). So the idea of this kid being the difference of us making and not making the playoffs or even doing anything in the play offs is ridiculous (Lets be real, we don't have the pieces for a championship, the ONLY reason you go for a playoff push). Send the kid up now, get him big league experience and if he hits the innings cap in September then shut him down. If he is a part of the reason the team is in playoff contention, that's cool because fans will have even more of a reason to come to the games in September. Overall, you call him up now and fans will want to come to the games to see what the hype is about. The organization is just over thinking big time right now. Let him flow, don't mess with him by calling him up late and messing with his starts and putting gaps in between them.
  2. Oh good, management went Full Retard. Really? Save him so we'll have him ready to take us into the playoffs in September? I didn't realize we're all of a sudden good for playoff contention ever since we improved our rotation by swapping out Fernandez for Wolf/Turner. Just call the kid up already so fans will have a reason to come back to the park and improve ticket sales because lets get real, this team probably isn't nabbing a playoff slot so shut the kid down in September if you have to. At least with the slight bit of hope that the kid does give us a shot at contention, the slight hope and fun of being apart of a playoff run will drive in ticket sales than watching most of the rotation pitch losing efforts.
  3. John Patterson I remember the 2005 season where he looked like a promising arm for washington. I really liked the guys stuff, lol I thought it was weird he could dominate so many teams during 05-06 but when we would face him we'd pound him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Patterson_(pitcher)
  4. Glad to see some 500 ball, all I really want at this point is to see JJ and Bell back into form too
  5. How are they picking up the breaking ball so well, that's what I wanna know. because he cant throw it for strikes so when they see it coming, they just assume a ball once the first two at bats went through, they knew something was up when they saw that thing going in the dirt
  6. WHY IS THERE NO ONE IN the PEN?! I gave you a reason already. Leaving him in to slowly blow the game when he knows he has just a fastball? even when he's yay high in pitches for just in case? I get it if he works himself into a bad jam but this is a joke! All those fastballs are getting hit, Hairston is the only one who actually swung and missed
  7. WHY IS THERE NO ONE IN the PEN?!
  8. Can someone explain to me how they see he has nothing working but a fastball but the bullpen is still empty?!
  9. anyone blaming reyes for that is an idiot. even on the SNY replays, the ball wasnt even on the screen by the time reyes touched the bag. just a blind or biased ump
  10. Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen sought to clarify his remarks about Fidel Castro today by focusing on the many flaws of the Cuban dictator. Guillen recently told Time magazine, “I love Castro – comments which have created a huge backlash in South Florida. But Guillen sought to clarify his comments with those he angered in Miami’s Cuban-American community today. “As far as dictators go, the Fidel is basically the shittiest, Guillen began. “Look at his island. The Cuba. It is crap. They say it used to be nice. I doubt it. But he took it from a hell hole to even worse. I do not love a man such as this. I spit on Fidel and all the Cuban people who elect him over and over again. The Cubans are as dumb as their leader. As Marlins executives and public relations staff members moved to the podium to remove Guillen and end the press conference just sentences after it began, the outspoken manager continued on. “My favorite dictator? It’s not this Fidel, he said. “I do not love or respect him. Compare him to someone like the Russian, Joseph Stalin. The Wikipedia say he was responsible for more than 20 million deaths. That is the true power. He would kill Jay Mariotti in a second. I respect that man. Which is saying much because I hate Russians. Guillen’s microphone was cut, but he continued on, now yelling to be heard: “CUBANS! ACCEPT MYAPOLOGY! LET IT INTO YOUR TINY, COMMUNIST BRAINS AND REALIZE IT IS THE TRUTH! YOU STUPIDBASTAR- …, he said before being tackled off the stage by Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria. Minutes later, with Guillen removed by team security, Loria continued the press conference. “What Ozzie was trying to say is that he knows absolutely nothing about anything beyond baseball, said Loria. “If you ask for his opinion on anything outside of this sport, anything at all, you will only be horrified by what comes out of his mouth. So please only ask him about baseball and I’m confident his tenure here will be a success. http://www.sportspic...what-stalin-did
  11. Thanks to the pussification of this country and the joke that is the 1st amendment, because so many idiots cannot take sarcasm or take something out of context, we will be managed poorly for 5 games. Thats cool
  12. Whats with JJ's stuff, he looked ready in spring!
  13. 3 ball counts, hanging pitches, where's the real josh johnson?
  14. Does this potentially mean teams are finally standing up to and flipping Boras' deals the bird? I remember he was supposed to get a much better contract extention like 4 years/ 40 something mill. Im just sick and tired of hearing about Prince not being signed yet, what team would be ludicrous enough to pay him Pujols money when he cant even shine close to what Pujols is.
  15. Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Among the starters that the Marlins are considering: Joe Saunders. 212 IP, 3.69 ERA, 1.307 WHIP, 108 SO, 67 BB last season These stats are misleading, he can be figured out easily. He dominated in the AL his first full season with luck through a ludicrous babip before getting knocked around the second time around. He's nothing special
  16. The Marlins probably have the fourth best rotation in the division right now. Really? I would take our rotation over theirs, even with Gio. A season off and I think people have forgotten why Stras was so hyped as a rookie. Check his stats, check his stuff. Zim was at one point their top prospect and it has shown very easily, and I honestly believe Gio's control issues revolved more around the pressures of feeling he had to be perfect every game considering the A's offence. I love JJ, he probably can be as dominant as any other pitchers but I dont think you can honestly compare Anibal and Buerhle to them. Anibal has nice stuff but hasn't really impressed me to where I feel complete confidence in him yet not to mention he has had his control issues as well. I wonder when Buerhle hits his limitations from age and the heavy workload he endured in Chicago. I wont say their rotation is significantly better than ours by any means but I would still take their rotation
  17. He pitches to contact for ground balls, I think what people tend to forget is our defense in the infield is garbage. It's what explains Nolasco's stats to an extent too (what was his BABIP?). If Hanely can man 3b well and with Reyes at short, maybe there numbers start to pick up. Im not saying they become solid over one signing, but you can only hope for the best if we really are sticking with them next year.
  18. I cant see him coming back. With Ozzie at the helm, im sure of it. Ozzie doesnt take sh*t and im sure they butted heads in Chicago during his faulty playoff run performances. The guy cant pitch when the heats turned up, it's been proven and he's getting older and older to where it's probably to late to see him turn that corner
  19. Samson on why no Prince: There's Albert and then there's everyone else when it comes to that type of franchise-changing contract. #Marlins -Juan Rod . . . There's a 32 year-old who maybe good for half of the lucrative contract and then there's everyone else?! . . . I get the idea of drawing in fans by promoting the best active latin bat in the game, but seriously?! Prince isnt just "everyone else" and will be in his prime at magic 27. Why is he allowed to talk?!
  20. What are the chances that Hanley could win Comeback Player of the Year in 2012? Pretty high imo if he's healthy. Especially with the switch to 3b. Learning a new position completely could be a distraction though. Has he ever played third?
  21. So is it true the Marlins are "very uninterested" in Fielder?! :fit sigh.. Fixed
