  1. pfff, I could do that with forks in my eyes and an amputated leg :mischief
  2. Weezer is amazing, my god what an entertaing vid. Did they edit themselves and the videos or did they actually get some of these people? Looks like both
  3. 2003, the whole postseason could not have been better. The fish crushing the hearts 3 teams I HATE. the only way it could have been better is if threw in the Mets aswell. Loved it, everyone counted us out. I loved the 8th inning rally at Wrigley too! Just awesome!
  4. meh, we will get the rubber game. Mets lucked out, look who got the big hits for them: Easly, Castro, and Tatis? :thumbdown
  5. Reggie Abercrombie. You beat me to it . . . But definatly Miguel, hands down and without a doubt.
  6. I have come to eat that crow and also from when I stated we were winning because we were only picking on the little guys. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MITRE, JJ, HAMMER n' ANIBAL! :evil
  7. possibly my favorite game of the year! Nolasco showed us why we were great in '06 and I loved how Gregg took care of buisness without walking the bases loaded.
  8. Hanly's numbers in the 3 hole are not bad, but i feel the offense as a whole is much more productive with him leading off. He's a great hitter and steals bases like crazy. he can hit Hr's as a bonus too. There is just something about him in the three hole that just doesn't seem right.
  9. The fans won't be won over by just some championship title, as proven by '03 and how attendance dropped each year. The need to spend money is to keep the peices so that the fan base will stay. Money comes from the fans attending the game, the big money involves keeping fan favorites. Its about keeping players that are good and that the fans want to come see everyday. The front office has been greedy but I dont think they will be stupid enough to stay away from that fact. Trading away players is not an excuse they are trying to use to save money, they are using it as a way to get the stadium. NO TEAM wants a fire sale, its one of the biggest ways to lose the trust of the fan base and a major source of the team's income.
  10. I'd perfer to keep Mac down there atleast till the ASB so he can really get into the feel for playing the game after being out for so long. I like Cantu and not many of his errors have been mind blowing game-costers.
  11. Defiantly becomeing a fan favorite, I love his never die statements. His defense is severly underrated and he has pop. I want to see him more consistant at the plate though. Thats hard to do seeing as I watch through Gameday though :confused
  12. Why are stupid people allowed to voice their opinions? When does he write real articles like how the Mets are too old to do anything of relevance and how Reyes is an even bigger fluke then Hendrikson? Or how they traded Carlos Gomez and prospects for a rent-a-stud even though they are not going anywhere this year? Even better yet like how if not for Maine, Santana or Wright, this team would arguably be the worst team in baseball?
  13. With Miguel gone, this was supposed to be his super bad @$$ year where he actualy got 100+ RBI's :boo-woo
  14. The Reds probably made the right trade there, though. With their outfield depth they could afford it, and Volquez has arguably outperformed Hamilton thus far. Still, nice to see. I don't know, this guy is tied in the AL for HR's and leads the majors in RBI's. He plays one of the most difficult positions to play, plus he is loaded with talent, speed and work ethic. Volquez is filthy, but he needs to trim down on the walks, they are a major reason he fails to exceed 5 or 6 innings which can be taxing on a pen. I think the trade could be viewed as even, but I want to see Volquez improve his control before I say the Reds won this.
  15. now rays are one getting respect on baseball tonight quite right, they deserve it 24-17, 8-2 in last 10, top of the AL East, just knocked the Yankees to the bottom they r doing damn good kazmir-shields has to be one of the most underrated 1-2s in the game, considering how young they are Yeah, but it is kinda annoying. They have been getting props all season while the same people say that we don't have a shot. Yea, why cant they honor our Kazmir/Shields dominating combo . . . oh wait :confused
  16. Lets take out our anger and frustrations on Tomko n the Royals! I say 72 runs today :mischief
  17. Nady is playing out of his mind and is bound to slow down. Also, Michael Young is MUCH better then Renteria. Young doesn't just constantly hit over 310, he hits at arlington which is what gives him the 20+ Hr's potential. He is also protected by Hamilton, who do you have on your FA?
  18. I have Brian Roberts, he appears a bit injured but hopefully it's nothing serious. Jose Lopez and Clint Barmes are aon the FA. Barmes looks like he is doing good, and even when Troy comes back from the DL, he will move to 2B. Jose Lopez is tearing it up, and this is a keepers league too. He looks great, but I want somthing extra like power or doubles, even SB's. Does anyone think his OBPS could be better then Roberts?
  19. Great comeback win and 7 in a row. 23-14 and 1st in the NL East. Hanley probably signed long term. Can it get better than this? Yes. Yes it can. Discuss if you wish. Also, I feel I should post this: And I also compiled "wins" for game threads, in order of first game thread created. Please correct me if this is incorrect. Beetle 0-1 Erick 11-4 Admin 2-2 Rabbethan 0-1 Rachel 0-1 AdrianneLove 1-1 miamibaseball 8-2 MrAndMrsFish 1-1 I am 11-5. miamibaseball > me, now. :mis2 lol, I havn't been a huge GT poster since '06. Maybe I can get in on this now that my semester is over and summer is here
  20. I want us to start facing some real teams to see what we are. We have only faced like the mets and Dodgers as winning teams and I dont need to remind you how those series went . . .
  21. Despite giving up an un earned run, he is one inning away from a no no!
  22. Let's go Olsen! :pray (My Fantasy Team is depending on you . . . )
  23. TORONTO: White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen had his own Lee Elia moment, letting forth a stream of obscenities in which he accused Chicago fans of turning on the struggling team after a strong start. During his rant before Sunday's game against Toronto, Guillen said the White Sox are not sufficiently appreciated in their city despite winning the 2005 World Series. "That's what ticks me off about Chicago fans and Chicago media, they forget pretty quickly," Guillen said, punctuating his outburst with a healthy dose of vulgarities. He bemoaned the fact that the Cubs are considered the "best" in Chicago even though they haven't won a World Series since 1908, dropping F-bombs along the way. He fears his team will never get respect "no matter how many World Series we win." Guillen also mocked the 25th anniversary of the rant by Elia, the former Cubs manager. Guillen predicted his own tirades will one day be equally legendary, and maybe lucrative. Today in Sports Hornets rout SpursTwo books of photographs, two labors of loveAt 45, Moyer gives pitching class "How many times do I curse people out? I will make a lot of money. ... I have to keep going because in the future Ozzie will need money," he said. The White Sox, who lost 4-3 Sunday, have dropped eight of 11 and fallen out of first place in the AL Central. At 14-15, the White Sox are below .500 for the first time since they started the season 1-2. "People are panicking," Guillen said. "Did we play a real bad week? Yes, we did. We stunk. But it wasn't too long ago that we were the biggest surprise in baseball. Wow, look at the White Sox." Chicago has scored just nine runs in its past five games and its .232 batting average is the AL's lowest. I love Ozzie! :thumbup And to Explain the Blowup dolls If anyone was offended by the White Sox having a pair of inflatable dolls surrounded by bats and a sign encouraging players to "push" in their clubhouse before Sunday's game in Toronto, don't expect an apology from manager Ozzie Guillen. "I'm sure it wasn't done to disrespect anyone," Guillen said Monday. "Everyone in the clubhouse, 100 percent of the people in the clubhouse, they are 18 years old and that's a private thing. If the players do it in the dugout so everyone in the public could see it, or did it in the hotel lobby . . . we did it in the clubhouse. A lot of worse things happen in the clubhouse. I don't really know why people are making it a big deal. If people got their feelings hurt because of that . . . they don't really know much about baseball." ? If people got their feelings hurt because of that . . . they don't really know much about baseball." (Sun-Times file) The gimmick, called a slump buster, apparently was put together to help the White Sox snap out of a recent losing streak. On Saturday, Sox players shaved the head of one of Guillen's coaches, another uneffective trick. "This was in the same spirit," Sox spokesman Scott Reifert said. "In terms of taste I think people would find it tasteless. They were just trying to get the bats going." Reifert said players have "burned bats, kissed bats, slept with their bats, blessed their bats, you name it." On Sunday, the bats were circled around the two naked female dolls, one of whom had a bat inserted in its backside to prop it up. Each wore a sign over her breasts, one saying "Let's Go White Sox" and the other reading "You've Got to Push," the National Post in Toronto reported. One group not amused by the prank was the Association for Women in Sports Media, whose members work toward ensuring a non-threatening work environment for all women in sports media. "The presence of those dolls creates an uncomfortable situation for any female journalist who enters the White Sox locker room simply trying to do her job," said Jenni Carlson, the group's president, in an e-mail.
  24. id say you blow it. you would have gotten the best of that trade. oh well good thing its only april. im sure you can get an other lopsided trade from the same guy if he sent you one. blew it, i put it on hold and at the last second, he thought he was giving up too much :banghead This is a league among friends, everyone almost tore into him for sending that to me. I think he might be a bit to paranoid to trade now. But he has the best offense out of all of us and he needs pitching. But he doesn't want to trade any bi of the offense. Oh well :confused
