5/21 Postgame

So much for us picking on bad teams.

Great stuff from Ricky, another big night for Gonzo. 14 for his last 42 now.

Awesome.

Very good game. This is what happens when you get quality starting pitching. You don't have to score 5 runs a game to win.

Great game, all around.

BTW, the Marlins only beat weak teams and weak pitchers.

Awesome.

BTW, I started my own gamethread a second ago, an I also ended it the same way Benched did.

Amazing. Great game, great win! Definitely Ricky's best outing this year. Nicely done. :thumbup

Nolasco was just disgusting. Blowing fastballs by people, dropping the curve in there, kept his command.

Just wow.

And the offense did just enough to scratch out a few runs against a great pitcher.

Kudos to Freddi for the squeeze call also.

Marlins hand Brandon Webb his first loss.

How about the RBIs coming from the 6-8 hitters tonight? :thumbup

This team is gonna be crazy when we're 100%. I'm extremely proud of our team. :gofishb

I've got my cross-hairs pointing at Dan Haren now. Dead-Man walking. :mischief

Just like Tommy said, seems like going against Webb inspired Nolasco to up his game. The guy was flat out dominant, dropping curves and throwing fastballs ala Beckett. Perfect defense, clutch performances by the bottom of the order, and the bullpen was lights out to put it away. If people around the country keep thinking this team is a fluke, all I can say is "no hay peor ciego que el que no quiere ver".

And we did it all without our best player.

Probably my favorite game of the year so far, Ricky just looked incredible out there, looked like a front of the line starter.

BTW: I want to join that umpire's fan club. I love the way he would take off his mask and just stare down whoever made noise about a strike call. That guy was a bad ass. Gotta love the 'stache!

this ranks up there with the game last year against the padres when kim outduelled and beat peavy

similar sort of scenario, an underdog pitcher beating a true ace on the top of his form

Brandon Webb pitched beautifully. And Ricky Nolasco pitched even better. He was ON tonight. That curveball was crazy. His fastball was hitting 96. Awesome in every way.

Good to see Danny keep his hitting streak alive with that double. Gonzo still covering for Hammer well, going 2-3 with a RBI single and a triple which ended up a run. Great stuff from the rejected D-Backs.

Facepalm

Ricky was amazing tonight. Pitch for pitch, he took on the challenge that is Brandon Webb and did one he!! of a job. Nice to see us take two from the "best team in baseball."

BTW...a BIG FU goes out to Baseball Tonight. Sure we win the game, but no highlights of Ricky, and of cause they have to show how amazing Webb is afterwards, even though WE won. Whatever...
