  1. The offense didn't bow down to santana, we got some hits a homer. Its going to ge a repeat of last year, we will get on the board, but so will the other team.
  2. so what are the chances he hits 1.000 for like 50 AB's, join us back in the majors and finishes with a Ryan Braun like season?
  3. Whenever I watch Chris Seddon pitch I have to reach for the whiskey bottle. I'd gladly watch Kim over him any day and having him on the roster probably doesn't damage the team any more than handing the ball to Seddon or Waechter would. he had a very interesting delivery, almost scary to watch him pitch at times, but I could have more faith in him over seddon, wachter, or barone. Hey why do you still have julio as still our guy when he is busy rotting in arizona?
  4. Oakland has a better winning percentage then us, still confident in this comparison?
  5. Hudson is a great pitcher, but best stuff?
  6. :lol Yea, we tried to get the NFL head-to-head fantasy season feel for baseball. I think its interesting
  7. Who does better between these two this season. I have them both but duno who to start for opening day, I am currently leaning on Young for his past accomplishments and i do believe he can hit 20+ hr's again especially in arlington. Orlando, however, is coming off a pretty solid year and moving to a better hitter-friendly ballpark. If he is the lead off hitter and continues high moderate steals of 20+, he could be a decent threat the league goes on sepcific poi tn values, like 4 points for a HR, 3 for a triple, a SB is 2, run socred is 1, RBI is 2 etc . . .
  8. all that means is we have competitive young talent. something we are reminded of every year . . .
  9. its a points league. Let me put it this way, Many of the batters that were allstar playes who got a lot of points stayed up around the net total of 1000 points last year. All-star caliber closers made around 300-400 net points. Its like in football trading Jeremy Shocky for Randy Moss cause their big names. The fact is TE's will get less points cuz of less usage as opposed to the WR. The batter will be attempting 162 games worth of points while the closer is fortunate to pick up at least 40 saves for points.
  10. yea I thought so, if Gary is healthy and hamilton shows some stuff, I end up looking like a moron
  11. I'm pretty sure the first bitch move was Elliot Johnson charging in with the intent to blow up the catcher when out by 10 feet in a meaningless Spring Training game. A bitch play in which Francisco Cervelli broke his wrist and quite possibly ruined his entire season. Please. If your name was Elliot Johnson and you were doing everything in your power to make the team, you'd have slammed into the catcher too. Not if I was out by ten feet in Spring Training. I don't think playing dirty and reaming a catcher when out by ten feet makes you any more likely to make the big club, or any more liked within the clubhouse (at least a veteran one), for that matter. wow what a bitch. If you want to start trouble so badly, stop hiding behind the games so called "hard play rules" and actually challenge a Ray to a fight face to face one on one. He better watch it, no doubt this kid will find himself under a pile of rays and in the hospital just like the catcher. So, Shelley Duncan is the villain for "hard play rules", going in spikes up and not harming anyone? But, Elliot Johnson is a hero to claim "hard play rules" and send someone to the hospital? And start ALL OF THIS in the first place? They're both moronic. Let's face it, the only reason this is an issue is because the Yankees player did something dumb, so their MUST be a thread about it with everyone screaming about the "damn, dirty, scumbag yankees!". Where was the false outrage with the Devil Rays when they've been playing dirty with the Red Sox, Blue Jays and Orioles FOR YEARS? Save it. it was a close play and elliot had a shot to make the team through it. NEVER did he intend to hurt the catcher. You could even see his shocked and sympathetic expression after the collision. Now lets take the facts on Shelly: - He will be on the Yankees roster come Opening Day so there is no need for top of the line injury risking plays - He hinted to the media ahead of time he was going to do something - He used his spikes on Aki with the >INTENT< of payback. No matter how you or he sugar coats it, he intended to hurt Aki, he definatly would strike you as the guy who would want revenge. There is an immense diffrence in the plays. You will see Johnson's type of plays more often in spring training then Shelly's without a doubt. and for the record, I try to stay away from bias wih teams, the Mets and the Cubs are the only teams I can't keep my hatred toward hidden. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT34FDy9dRM Hey, mah vid! "Gomes-Ya-Know Count" :lol
  12. I am in a keepers league with friends. One friend is in serious need of RP's. He is willing to give up Magglio. I packaged Gary Sheffield, Mariano and Nathan for Ordonez. Do you think I am overhyping Mags. He told me he seriously thought about taking this one cause his DH is Damon. I think RP can be a bit overrated, kind like the TE in Fantasy Football. What do you guys think. Keep in mind this is based on indivisual points, for example, if Sheffield hits a homerun, they are worth 4 points each. then like Singles are one, doubles are two and so on. RPs get points for innings, saves, low ERAs an k's, but they don't always pitch and RPs can be a gamble if one decides on an off year like Lidge. Two ppl vase off for a week and the poitn total for who's was the higest. In another scenario, he was also interested in Josh Hamilton, but I think he could be a good sleeper just cause he is hitting in Arlington where balls fly. I know GA Ball Park would have showed his power, but I want one more crack at seeing how he does. As for RP's we can hold 3 and my other two are Marmol and Francisco Cordero
  13. what he do this time? Breathe?
  14. Thats horrible, I thought the point of baseball is to want to win! Sheffield is on the wrong side of 30 and his injries show that, bat him 5th or 6th, definatly not 3rd!
  15. this man will be 90, in a wheel chair, and will still be jacking home runs like its nothing.
  16. wow what a bitch. If you want to start trouble so badly, stop hiding behind the games so called "hard play rules" and actually challenge a Ray to a fight face to face one on one. 17. Reds manager Dusty Baker is challenging Votto to be more aggressive at the plate, the Reds' official site reports. Spin: For those of you that remember Baker's notorious "clogging up the bases" quote, here's another cringe-inducer: "He needs to swing some more. I talked to him about that," Baker said. "Strikeouts isn't the criteria. I think a lot of this on-base percentage is taking away some of the aggressiveness of some of the young kids to swing the bat. Most of the time with young guys, you have to put handcuffs on them not to swing. I really hate the called third-strike fastball. It means you're guessing or you're not ready to hit." I was readin up on Votto from the Reds, their rookie 1B. What were the reds thinking hiring this clown, this team will have absolutly no OBP
  18. Phew, I thought we were gonna be compltly healthy entering the season for a sec. :|
  19. Guess its more for show, does it affect how much sun comes?
  20. They can "say" all they want... I want to see proof.. :thumbup I wan to see a failed drug test form.. :thumbup I had to sneak past the government to get this so here is your proof. http://www.freewebs.com/faxanadu/barry.bmp
  21. It would have been so much better if he knew who kobayashi was :lol
  22. Am I missing something? How is that tiny tarp supposed to stop the rain? Rain comes from the sides too
  23. its a shame he couldn't get along with the ownership tho. :confused
  24. This guy is under the false impression that Ross is Superman. Please tell me this is a joke! How did the White Sox make 3rd and how in any possibl universe are the Indians ranked 22 not to mention UNDER baltimore?! The worst part is that Houston is ranked last despite having arguably the best offense in the NL!
