March 15, 200818 yr Once again the Marlins are sporting a great record in Grapefruit League play, I think they finished at or near the top in 06 play. It is great to see, lots of young talent could make for a competitive year, I know we don't post much, we have to work very long hours to live down here, but paradise aint cheap, still we try to make the drive 3-4 times a year, hope to make it to opening day, what do our fellow FishFans think about play so far? prospects for 08, can we compete in the tough NL east

March 16, 200818 yr seriously though...why do we even have a Grapfruit and Cactus League if there actually is NOTHING to compete for...why don't just have the ST games and just make a "list" of the results and win-loss records...by stating that we have a Grapefruit "League" we imply some type of meaningful competition with some type of prize to aim for... if this Grapefruit League is even a "League" then doesn't it have an owner or president of some type? If so, why doesn't that mysterious person create some type of prize to aim for. If I happened to be the owner of the Grapefruit League I'd either A) Create some type of minor reward to achieve...or B) Be embarrassed to own a league that nobody cares to win, thus I'd cease even using the term "league"... Yeah, I'm making something of nothing but the fact that the two Spring "Leagues" are even called Leagues irks me just a bit...

Time for the bashers to remind us that that the cheap so-and-so won't bring us the Rolling Stones for one of those half hour Saturday night free concerts. That "gift" to the players is just kind of a cute ceremony type thing. When the team really did do something that meant something "Loria's cheap ass" didn't exactly go to the Cracker Jacks boxes for a reward. Or are the bashers convenietly forgetting that anchor of a ring?? It may be a bit over the top and obnoxious, but it is not cheap by any means. Plenty of things to gripe about with our ownership. This isn't one.

March 17, 200818 yr That ring really is quite a monument to 2003 isn't it. :thumbup I have been lucky enough to have that ring on several times. Even have my pic wearing it. It's way over the top for my tastes, but I sure wouldn't mind building some kind of see-thru safe to display it. LOL
