Well we won, I like that Benitez hasn't given up a run or has showed any signs yet of being unreliable, but then again it's only been 3 innings. Offense seems to be getting it (3BB's off of Hudson), but for gods sakes can we please put hanly back in the leadoff spot :confused
  2. Money wellllllllll spent. They aren't paying him anything until he pitches in a MLB level game. Yankees just stated they have no plans on turning back on the contract, so apparently they will pay him. I really hate the yankees. I don't know what angers me more, the fact that they have enough money to just throw 23 mill in Rogers face for a little over half a season or that fact the roger can just jump into the middle of the season.
  3. I have heard this joke used for some many teams from so many sports, at times worded a bit diffrently.

someone needs to update that caveman one to say so easy the Nats could do it the nats arn't doing that bad right now, it's as if they ripped a page out of our book from last year
  5. SS Hanley RF Hermida 3B Cabrera LF Hammer 1B Jacobs 2B Uggz C Olivo CF Alf / Reggie This should be the line up, also when do we get de Aza back? :confused
  6. To get the real flavor of your GENERAL Philly fan you need to see one urinating and vomiting at the same time in your stadium after your team hits a HR. I've seen that. :lol That statment made my day! Anyway, I would probably need to go to DS during a Philly game to actually get that hatred for Phil fans. I don't know why but I have no actualy hatred toward them. I think it's cause the only Phil fans I have heard from are the ones from the mlb.com message board. That place is so down, eveyrone there keeps predicitng losses and every other topic is a death threat to manuel. You should go there, it makes emo kids look happy. Also, your statement on olsen, that was something from last year. There was an article on it during the end of the year, don't let that bother you too much. He is very hot headed, :lol
  7. I like the fact that Olsen went out there and out dueled Hamels. He is going out there and giving us quality starts, and the offense is waking up. Hermida K'ed 3 of 4 times though :confused
  8. Closers and bench hitters seemed to thrive here.
  9. It took 8 replys till someone finally realized his real name :lol I think something that should be pointed out is Ramirez hitting 3rd. He is batting a low 200 with RISP and under 200 with runners on period. Maybe Fredi should re-think some things.
  10. Why was Wilson put under one the of the greatest short stops on earth while A-Gon was only noticed for his HR's?
  11. It's Willis, Wes, Scotty, and Mitre, and Nolasco, who am I missing? Are you sure Wes is going to the Pen? Also, I have some faith in Kim, he isn't pitching at Homer Happy Coors Field. Now he gets to pitch in a pitcher's park, hopefully that does something. Besides, he wans't that bad of a starter for Boston back in 03.
  12. 8 games losing steak and get to sweep us. The Nats really remind me of our team last year. :mischief2: The second it was in the books that they swept us, I thought the the SAME EXACT thing. With Rich Hill and Matt Chico, they can be dangerous. They could be better if Patterson and Cordero would get their heads out of their asses and actually get it together. there offense isn't that bad either, if Zimmerman can get his bat back and Felipe can start getting on base again.
  13. Alright, we got SP/RP who has had some pretty good success in his career. Not to mention Kim is leaving a homer happy park for a pitchers paradise! I love it!
  14. Not everything was his fault, but I do agree that he is WAY to relaxed with the players. What I liked about Girardi was he would light a fire under them and get them ready to play. He always instilled the "To the World Series" attitude and told them, don't give a crap about what others think, you may be rookies but you can still play!
  15. With Hill and Chico, and if Patterson and Cordero get their heads out of their @$$es, they could very well pull off what we did. Their bullpen is still pretty strong.
  16. Don't worry, "We are a young, get-after-it, hacking ballclub" So it's all good, or atleast the coaches and players think it's good :|
  17. Try these but instead of searhc, click I am Feeling Lucky French Military Victories anti-war peace protesters
  18. Jays can't catch a break, just like us
  19. Hermida will not hit 2nd either...He will take JoBo spot in the lineup. Is this your own thought of whats to happen or did Fredi really say he is replacing Jobo's spot? Cause I can't stand uggz in the number 2 hole anymore.
  20. Last year we had talent and unknown players that got to surprise everyone. The key thing about a sophomore slump is the league now "knows" you so they know how to pitch and hit against you. So don't expect us to be pulling hot streaks out of our @$$ like last year. We should still do better with this more reliable Bull Pen, but now health becomes the deciding factor this year. Hermida, Martinez, Kensing, Johnson, de Aza are some key injuries.
  21. where did that hanley image come from. It's not last year's, and I compared Hanley's gameday pick to that one, his current one is similar but his has a bigger grin to the fake reggie one.
  22. Mitre was never a bad pitcher, he just had the unfortunate fate of being coached by Dusty Baker, being forced into relief where his ERA shot up constantly.
  23. YAY, A REAL NUMBER 2 HITTER! :notworthy
  24. It is also worth noting that Oliver Perez, Peavy, and Penny are all strike out pitchers. I know those guys had 10+Ks against us, but those are pitchers that are good at striking batters out. Sure we have to try to cut down the Ks, but the truth is we're scoring plenty of runs and are losing games anyway, so the strikeouts have not been the reason we're under .500 Actually Penny is a ground-ball pitcher, and to make it worse, 13 of the 14 K's that our hitters struck out on were "fastballs" :thumbdown
  25. God forbid we don't return home with a record at or above 500! The only thing I fear is how our pitching does cause the matchups might not go our way. Don't forget some of the opposing pitchers: Chico, Hill, Gorzelany, Kazmir, Snell, and probably the worst one on their, Shields. :confused
