December 23, 200520 yr messing with my account at GoDaddy, it made me wonder who has property on the net. so which names do you own and what do you plan to do with them? I'll start: ShadeNation.com: I had this running during the summer selling sunglasses. Not much success, but alot of my online friends helped me out. DeepFriedSports.com Trying to think of a clever name here on MB.com for my blog, I came up with Deep Fried Blog...sounded greasy and went with my profession so I went with it. When I started my Marlins blog Deep Fried Fish at MLBlogs, "Another Deepfried Blog by Chefbob" became the subtitle. So one day, I thought of a domain that could group some of my sites together and become a portal for them, so DeepFriedSports.com was chosen. SportCooks.com Originally, for about 3 years I had the SportsCook.com name. Starting in 2000, I had the sportscook.tripod.com freebie because I was too poor to buy a $35 name which was the going rate. SportsCook was supposed to be a tailgating and sports website that I always had high hopes for. Overall though, it took up too much of my time and never really took off. So this year, since I had the name so long with plenty of links to it, someone took the name from under me to try and resell it(I couldn't get in touch with the person that bought it for me originally to rebuy it). So, I went with the name my friend and I thought of for a sports cooking and talk show....SportCooks.com or, The SportCooks! Once I have more time, I'll get together with the right person and create the show, which will be via audio podcast or video. The show will rock. SaveTheMarlins.netDuring the "save the marlins" craze of 2005...oh, is that still going on? Well, anyway, this one is self explanitory. Purchased it before all of the crazy scammers did just in case we all wanted to do something with it. I have a few other domain names in mind and some that are taken or ready to expire. We'll see. Remember, although most of us won't get the $$$ that was once given for web addresses, it still is considered a piece of property that you own. I'm curious what Marlinsbaseball.com is appraised at now.
