I'm so sick of Samson's we want to stay in South Florida crap.

It's been a month since you spoke to the city of Hialeah.

It's been a month since you said the team was going to unveil a campaign to get the fans involved.

Stop with the God damn lies and make your intentions known. I'm so sick of this sh*t. I'm not going to give one f***ing dime to this franchise until a stadium deal in Miami is worked out. We're dealing with the slimiest of all the owners in sports.

Loria and Samson should just drop dead. Do us all a favor.

:thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

ok.

i really dont know what that is proving, but ok.

Damn the CapeFilter....it took two seperate posts and combined them.

I have a feeling that the Miami-Dade commissioners are going to let the voters decide if the county should contribute more money toward the new stadium. This way no individual commissioner can be criticised for "giving money to millionaires" type of comments. I personally think that this is the only way to go. The county said they will not give any additional monies without voter approval and the team does not seem to be too eager to contribute any more bucks.

The 1/2 penny tax is a good idea, but the general public will probably vote against it. Miami-Dade College now also wants a 1/2 penny tax to pay for more funding and they want to place this request on the ballot in November. This may cloud the issue. A voter would have to chose between education for the county vs. "giving money to millionaires". I think we (Marlin fans) will come out on the losing end on this vote.

This is why I think it is so important that the stadium funding come from a tax on rental cars or on hotel rooms. Something that won't come from the pockets of the voters. It can be limited to one year so that hopefully the opposition from Hertz, Avis and others won't be massive. I don't believe that a potential tourist will decide not to visit the area because the rental car will cost 4 dollars more!!!!!

Car Rental Tax would be long-term. Other than that, your analysis is right on.

I have a gut feeling that the voters of SA would pass the measure to allow a sparkling new stadium to be built. Screw Sampson, SA, and anyone else not helping our beloved Marlins get a new stadium. :banghead

This coming Tuesday, the County Commissioners are likely going to consider asking voters....but the Marlins are not doing anything to help their cause.

I have a gut feeling that I know nothing until I know how the geniuses that run my city propose this to the people.

Then I can tell you quite easily whether or not it would pass.
