Chris Aguila - OF - Marlins

Chris Aguila went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk to help the Marlins beat the Mets 12-7 on Tuesday.

Aguila is batting .400 in 40 at-bats since opening the spring 2-for-15. Because of the announcement last week that Josh Willingham would see time in left field, Aguila appears to have temporarily lost his chance at regular playing time. However, he could still play left three times per week and start over Reggie Abercrombie in center on occasion. It's likely that he'll get 350-400 at-bats over the course of the year, and he's still a better bet than Abercrombie to help out in NL-only leagues. Mar. 28 - 5:55 pm et

Joe Borowski - R - Marlins

Joe Borowski was perfect for an inning versus the Mets on Tuesday. He's given up one run in 8 2/3 innings this spring.

He's allowed six hits, walked one and fanned seven. Borowski appears nearly certain to enter the year as the Marlins' closer. Mar. 28 - 5:52 pm et

Eric Reed - OF - Marlins

Eric Reed went 3-for-5 with two RBI and stole his sixth base today.

With Josh Willingham set to spend time in the outfield and Reggie Abercrombie likely to start in center field, it wouldn't make any sense to keep Reed in the majors as a bench player. He's missed a lot of time due to injuries the last two years and needs to play regularly in Triple-A. Mar. 28 - 5:44 pm et

Nothing too shocking here, but the Reed tidbit is interesting. Some would prefer him as a 4th OFer, but I agree with having him in AAA getting regular playing time.

Aguila will get plenty of ABs after the league gets their scouting on Reggie straight and he starts striking out 2 times every game.

agree completely, although I definitely hope Reg proves us wrong.

Aguila does make it as 4th outfield and Reed goes down to the minors, Reed is still very exciting to watch and I hope he gets called up soon.

Whoever has tickets for tomorrow, I am jealous. What a pitching match-up. I assume we will see Girardi's current version of the starting day line up....Preview of the upcoming season? GO FISH.
