What's your Marlins W-L record?
I had a great season with the fish, 6-1. The three game sweep @ Tampa Bay, 2 wins @ CHC and 1-1 @ CWS.

16th place, baby!
It's sad, because we are better than several of those teams ahead of us. Especially Washington, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, San Fran, and Houston. Unfortunately we haven't been playing better than them, and recently we have been getting beat up by several of those teams. I am not sure how fair it is to say "we are better than..." but, "we haven't been playing better". As much as I hate the way the Fish are performing, if they are not playing better than ther others, they simply cannot be seen as being better.

Thanks for the informatioin adn clarification. If I understand your explaination, Treanor (2.093) and Mitre (2.056) become eligible before this season is over. Do they wait to 'argue' until the off-seaon? Or is immediately upon reaching 3 years of service time? Thanks for having the knowledge and the willingness to share it.

When does a plyer become arbitration eligible? If the answer to that question contains phrases like "# of seasons" expalin that. Does a season mean a player must have been on the active roster all 182 games? If a player is a late season call-up, how does that service time enter the calculation? Thanks, looking forward to the education!!

6/20: Fish @ White Sox
THROW STRIKES What a novel concept!! I wish are pithers understood that concept a little better!!

6/20: Fish @ White Sox
Looks like the ninth will be a nice opportunity for Cabrera and Hammer to set the table for Boone to add to his success for today!!

6/20: Fish @ White Sox
Props to the manager!! We'll see how long before he makes a call that doesn't pay off and 95% of the board will be looking to fire him!!!

Lineups for tonight's Marlins/Sox game.
I hope the fish put up 5-8 runs and Dontrelle has 10-12 K's tonight. I will be at the game and would love to see the fish explode for some runs. Here is the total dream package (without going to far with the dream).. Dontrelle, 7+ IP, 10+ K Everybody gets a hit. Carrol goes 2-4 (one needs to be a dinger if teh family is going to be there) Hammer 3 hits, 1 BB, 1 HR Uggla, 2 hits Offenseively, >12 hits, < 5 K, no body with more than 1 K

Game 1 of 4 thoughts...
I hope Hammer snaps out of the funk he was in last night. Three strike outs in one game is NOT a typical Hammer night. I did get to go to Thursday's game in Chicago. Sitting amongst all the Cub fans was a blast, especilly when Hammer got his BLAST. That ball was in the air so long it reeminded me of the line in Bull Durham 'anything that flies that far should have a stewardess on it'.

Fredi getting tossed
I always wonder what managers say to umps. Probably some nice colorful language. I read a story about Pete Rose when he was manager. He yelled at an umpire, while suggesting that he go to a specific restaurant for a steak. He yelled "it'll be the best F**king steak you've ever had"....the ump threw him out, and after the game did have a steak on rose's tab. I read this in Rose's book: My Prison Without Bars. I assume he was telling him something about Fudruckers?!?!

What would you think of this when Jake gets back
With everyone healthy: 1) De Aza: CF: He is a better hitter than Reggie and we let him leadoff, and De Aza has the speed. 2) Hermida: RF: He can work pitchers and is showing some power, he has good bat controll and is a lefty, which sets up a lot of possibilities on the bases for De Aza 3) Ramirez: SS: He is just a great all around hitter 4) Cabrera: 3B: Same as above 5) Jacobs (vs righties): 1B: Big powerful left handed bat. 6) Uggla: Tough choice between Uggs and Hammer but...... 7) Willingham: LF: Provides great power for the bottom of the lineup. 8) Olive: C:Well 8 hitters are known for swinging at bad pitches....a natural fit =/ Against lefties my 5,6,7 would be Willingham, Jacobs, Uggla I would hate hitting some of those guys so low, but I really think that lineup could work. Willingham hits much better against Righties. Why would you have him hittng 7 against righties and 5 against lefties? That seems backwards to me.

Long road trip
I think we can win at least 2 per stop. 6-4 not a bad road trip. I will be at the games in Tampa!! Then a week later the fish come to Chicago & Milwaukee!!! Translation: I potentailly will get to see 10 Marlin's games in a span of 17 days!! SHould be a blast!!

30 K for Uggla in 24 games
One thing I think Hammer brings to the table (or plate) is his disipline. He does not have a reputation for chasing bad pitches. He has a great eye and doesn't seem to mind 'taking on for the team'. That being said, I think he has the most to offer following Cabrera. Miggy benefits from that 'protection'. Hammer has really had a nice string lately. It is good to see his AVG .290-.295

Friday, April 13, 2007 - Marlins @ Braves
I would love to see D-train hit in the 8 spot.

3/28 - Nationals @ Marlins - 1:05 PM
No Hammer? He seemed to be warning up; two hits yesterday. Please tell me he is not hurt!

Josh Willingham
His bat has turned COLD!!! If memory serves me correctly, this time last year was when the fish were discovering his bat and the need to find him some where, other than C, to play?!?!
-
Josh Willingham
His defense probably can't get worse, if it does they'll have to ban woman and children from the first 3 rows in the left field terrace box seats...so we'll hopefully see an improvement on defense. His offense is good. Hopefully it will improve and get even better. I'm optimistic. I do not keep up with the stats, was Hammer really 'that' bad on defense? Your comment makes him sound like a real liability out there in left. Am I reading you wrong?

Josh Willingham
OK, I know there is pleanty of talk concerning a closer and CF, and rightfuly so. One thing I have heard very little on is Willingham. Last year at this time he was trying to pick up the art of catching, seeemd to be progressing well. Then with one week left in ST, soemone says "we need your bat in the line up, go play left feild." Some of us were a bit anxioius about that move and worried about his defensive abilities. His bat produced and his defense was adequate. It looks like this ST he is concentrating on LF without competition!?! How does everyone see him this year? Will his defense be adequate (or better)? I think his bat will improve: .295, 33, 100. He will continue to be a SOLID contributor without a lot of 'flash' or attention form the media. Your thoughts?

Fish @ Mets 9/20 7:10
No Cabs? Joe protecting the AVG for him? Joe given up on the season?

Predict the last 19
For the month of September, the FISH are an oustnading 8-3. That translates to a .727 winning percentage. If we continue that pace throught the remainder of the regular season, we win 13 of the final 18 and end the season 86-76. While I understand that is VERY optimistic given the schedule, I just keep on drinking my teal colored kool-aid, reminding myself of where the FISH are after a questionable start. Here's looking for @ least two winning streaks of @ 4 games between now and the end of the season, coupled with NO back-to-back losses!!! We will need to add some re-enforcements; the bandwagon will be over-flowing!!!

Predict the last 19
It appears to me that there is way too much drinking of Teal Colored kool-aid happening with the posters on this board. Either that or the things we hear in the Midwest about the quality of drugs in Miami are all true. Please, put away the Kool-aid and share some realistic predictions. GO FISH!! most predictions had us realistically winning about 50 games...its baseball...ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN Good point, please pass the kool-aid this way!!!! GO FISH!!
