Returning to the rotation on Friday for the first time since June 4, Mitre experienced his roughest outing of the season. His loss at Kansas City, however, was not as bad as the six runs allowed indicated. The right-hander, who is still battling back through a sore right hamstring, held the Royals to one run through five innings and three through six before the game was broken open in the seventh. Mitre logged 88 pitches and had a string of 24 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run snapped.

 

CWS: RHP Jon Garland (4-4, 3.59 ERA)

 

 

 

Garland did not have a stellar outing, but kept the White Sox in the game in his previous start. He gave up four earned runs over six innings in a 4-2 loss to the Pirates on Friday. He was hurt by two-out hits -- the Pirates scored three of their four runs with two outs.

Yup he was robbed of a posbile home run. But I think that ball if not caught would have hit the wall.
