May 1, 200620 yr He's one strikeout away from the major league for strikeouts in a row (for a position player). He's at 8 right now...8 straight times. Really glad we didn't pick him up.
May 1, 200620 yr We almost picked him up during spring training before our championship season (2003), but we got Pierre as a plan B instead, cause the Phillies didn't budge.

Plus, the Pierre/Hampton trade happened at the winer meetings or right after, so I don't think we could have been looking at him in spring training.
