Can anybody tell me what kind of stuff Buddy Carlyle has? He has put up some pretty good numbers for the 'Topes this season (low walk numbers, good era, solid K numbers) and I am wondering if he has MLB quality stuff. I see he got a callup last year by the Dodgers, so it looks like he does have some good stuff. What pitches does he throw and what is his velocity?

Here's what I got from the Isotopes site. Just glanced at it but dosen't look like it goes over how much velocity he has or what pitches he throws but does give quite a bit of information on his career.

Went 0-0 with 8.36 ERA in 10 games with Los Angeles... for the first time in his career, he began season on Dodgers? Opening Day roster, and made nine appearances before he was outrighted on May 6... threw 0.2 scoreless innings on April 6 at San Francisco in season debut, his first Major League appearance since September 30, 2000.

Thank you for the info. I wouldn't mind seeing the Marlins give this guy a shot in the bigs. We need to callup a guy who can throw some strikes out of the bullpen and he has proved to be the most capable reliever at this so far in AAA.

I doubt this guy gets a shot.

 

Tankersley should be our next option.

 

We have so many good, young arms like Resop and Bostick....why even recall veterans anymore? We aren't going anywhere this year.

 

Let the youngsters pitch and build a good team in 2008.
