May 24, 200620 yr Alright, here's how this thing works. Later on in this post you will see the name of the movies nominated in this specific genre. They are presented in order by how many nominations they received, and then subsequently in order alphabetically when tied with the same number of votes. The number of nominations appears in parenthesis next to the movie title (with those not having a number receiving one nomination). Number of nominations was only the number of mentions the movie received in this specific genre. Now, with that out of the way, here's the process. Simply look at the movie list and post your own list from the list of movies on the nomination list that you believe everyone, no matter what, must see. Feel free to poke fun, argue with, or ask for explanations from other users who may post lists. The point is to draw a general consensus on which movies should be viewed by everyone. If I see a movie that's getting a lot of issue over with more than one poster on each side of the debate, I'll post up a poll and have everyone speak specifically in that topic about that movie. Now, with all that out of the way, here's the list: Horror Halloween (Original) (3) The Shining (3) Jaws (2) The Exorcist (2) The Omen (2) The Omen II: Damien (2) The Omen III: The Final Conflict (2) Alien Army of Darkness Blair Witch Project 1 Dead Alive Halloween (The Entire Series) Halloween H2O Nightmare on Elm Street Nosferatu Poltergeist Rosemary?s Baby Saw I Saw II Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake) The Gate The Others The Sixth Sense The Thing

May 24, 200620 yr Alien Shining Jaws Army of Darkness Halloween (Original) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) Anyone who votes for the remake of TCM should be shot. And then bludgeoned. And then mutilated. Then ground into hamburger. Then eaten. Then pooped.

May 25, 200620 yr This is a tough genre to judge. I don't think you can really tell anyone they HAVE to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's really just not for some people. If that makes it, it should go in with an asterisk or something. I would say the same for The Exorcist. Not only has that movie been known to make people vomit or pass out, but it's also highly offensive if you're deeply religious. On the other hand, a movie like The Shining is more psychological than anything else. There's really not that much nastiness going on. Anyway, these are the movies I've seen in their entirety: The Shining Jaws The Exorcist The Omen Alien Blair Witch Project 1 Poltergeist Rosemary?s Baby The Others The Sixth Sense There are five other movies on the big list that I have seen at least half of, but I've elected not to include them. Here are my must sees: The Shining Jaws The Exorcist Alien Rosemary's Baby To me, those are 5 no-doubters...not a questionable one in the bunch. I'm narrowly leaving out The Omen and The Others. Question: Have most of you never seen Rosemary's Baby? Or have you seen it and you just don't rate it a must-see? I can't imagine anyone not at least liking it a lot.
May 28, 200620 yr Man, ya'll need to quit hatin' on TCM (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), sahn. For REAL! Vote for it now!!! *resigns self to fact that it won't make the list because a) people didn't see it of b) it's hateable*
May 29, 200620 yr Not a popular genre I presume. Day or two more until this genre reaches the home stretch.
