June 1, 200620 yr 7/3er is a QS which is fine for me. He is bigger then he looks so he pitches on a downwards curve which gives his fastball good movement and seems faster as well. His slider is good and a second out pitch. His other pitches are okay. To be an ace he would need a 3rd out pitch. But in our park he could be a very good pitcher, specially if we get a defense. I think he will project out into a number 2 pitcher. Brad Penny is exactly what I think of when I think of him which is a perfect comparison. Penny is a good number 2 on an elite staff. Olsen is a number 1 type pitcher, or "ace" problems with the body and all. But Johnson is a workhorse type, the guys that get you somewhere special.
June 1, 200620 yr JJ is for real. He is learning to battle. He still has some hard bumps in the road ahead. But he diffently has the makings of a #1 or 2 guy in the order.
