Old Timers Day NYY vs Marlins...

Featured Replies

Philly in a Marlins jersey... been there, done that. It helps that I was the biggest guy at the park that day I guess...

Yankee fans? Civil? Surely you jest!

As a whole, yes they are. Of course there are some obnoxious and rude ones but every team has those.

they only truly hate red sox fans.

and i think a lot of it is just red sox fans bringing it upon themselves in all situations. They make me laugh many times, especially with the way they are totally ungrateful to former players, feeling as if the players 'owe' something to the Red Sox and the organization owes them nothing in return.

Funny stuff!

Ahem!

I beg to differ!

It's only when former players spit in our faces when they leave.

We didn't boo Clemens when he returned as a Blue Jay. It was only when he went to the Yankees and began badmouthing the city. Boggs earned our dislike when he said in Spring Training '93 that he was a rookie with the Yankees and he never played for the Yankees. Damon said last year that he'd never go to the Yankees and then he pills his little stunt.

When Mo Vaughn went to the Angels we didn't boo him; we knew that he was screwed over by Dan Duquette.

Think we'ree booing Mike Myers this seasopn? Likewise last year with Embree and Bellhorn after the Sox cut them and they went to the Yankees? No.

We only boo those who act like jerks.

What the hell are you talking about?

The Sox fans booed Myers, Embree and Bellhorn.

And Roger Clemens was forced out of Boston as well by Dan Duquette. They had been trying to force him out and Roger told them to go stick it. He later trashed management, which was more than well deserved.

While I hate Clemens you cannot for even an instant blame him for leaving Boston, as Duquette was trying to get the man to retire. Don't even try to use that bulls*** excuse.

Also -- I assure anyone who goes to Yankee Stadium that you will be treated quite well as long as you don't act like an a**hole (I.E. Standing up and chanting "YAN-KEES SU-UCK" like a loud mouth drunk or the like).

I've gone to probably over 100 Yankee games and I've only witnessed 1 instance where 2 fans got into it.

We yell "Yankees Suck"...but we do not yell "NY SUCKS"....whereas Yankee fans yell "BOSTON SUCKS"...we don't denigrate the town.

Only Sox player I ever booed? Former original Marlin Carl "Clubhouse Cancer" Everett...

it's official! I'm GOING!

kool, i'm going to .....see you there

We will be in the Syracuse area that weekend for my niece's graduation. On the 26th (Monday) we are making the trip down to Cooperstown. Are either one of you going there for the HOF?? I've been there before, last time was summer of '97, but my wife has never been there. It is a great place to spend a day or two. Beautiful little town.
