June 17, 200620 yr Fair enough. By the way, Wade could have gone for 50+ tonight, but deferred late in the game--another testament to his greatness. thats ridiculous how is not scoring late in a game a testament to greatness? ill take Kobe for 1 game, becuase his 2nd half in Game 7 vs. PHX was just another testament to his greatness He could run up his points, but he didn't. That's my point. so? that makes him great now? People always love highlighting one aspect of an argument/claim. That's what make message boards so difficult sometimes. This quoting crap makes it seem like that's the only thing that person said--when in reality I've made several other remarks in the many pages as to why Wade is great. The fact that he defers and is selfless is only one of them.

June 17, 200620 yr The point is that he was in the game. You stick a number of other 'stars' in that spot and I bet they'll still take the majority of the shots. You can't be great unless the people you play with respect and appreciate you. Just look at LA... Even Lamar Odom is commenting on Kobe these days. I have never EVER heard one negative comment about Wade's selflessness.

And selflessness is definitely an aspect of greatness. Can't be a ball hog and get love from the people! (people, who by the way, are the ones who decide the greatness of a player)

(people, who by the way, are the ones who decide the greatness of a player) i prefer that results dictate who is truly a great player in this league. Multiple NBA titles is one measure. If the 'people' is the media then most of them are utterly stupid when it comes to this league as a whole.

I reserve judgement on the 'people', but I acknoledge that they are the ones who place labels on players. Can't deny that.
