Eric Reed

He has a .322 OBP. The guy is garbage. BAs are so deceiving with guys like Reed and Pierre. All they do is hit singles, and if they don't get singles, they're worthless. They don't walk, they strike out a lot for guys without power, etc.

Pierre doesnt really strike out that much.

Eric Reed is the 1 player in the MLB that i am absolutely positive does not take Steroids. that is about the only thing he has going for him, actually he may need help for his anorexia. :plain

If Eric Reed wants a career in the majors, the one key problem he needs to address isnt his slap hitting etc, its his eye at the plate. His strikeout to walk ratio is poor, and for a plus defender with no power, his ability to get on base dictates his offensive value.

He currently has just 5 walks, but 20 strikeouts in 102 ABs. His average may be .294, but his OBP is just .324. His on-base will be the stat to continue to watch. If he can get it at least 50 points higher than he may still have a shot.

He will have absolutey no value as an mlb leadoff man until he can get his OBP up to around .350. It is nice to have a fast leadoff man, but not if he is sitting in th dugout.

I agree but Im 100% Pierre doesn't also.

You, Reed is Master, are a poster child for the downfalls of random genetic breeding.

A wild night that included 17 runs, five errors and nearly two hour?s worth of a rain delay went Albuquerque?s way, as the Isotopes (44-37) used a six-run 4th inning to go ahead for good and complete the series sweep of the Omaha Royals (30-50), 10-7, Thursday at Isotopes Park. Eric Reed finished with three hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
