With a win tomorrow...

Wild Card

I kinda have mixed feelings the most important things is winning tomorrow, but I'm really hoping the Astros make it in the central instead of the Cubs, because the cubs are dangerous. I'll be happy if we win tomorrow and the astros win tomorrow. That would mean our magic number would be down to 1 going into the series against NY, and the Phillies would be eliminated.

its better to clinch as soon as possible. Admin Bowa said his team wont quit until the plug is pulled. i want to pull the plug on everyone as soon as possible. you dont want to risk it

I don't think the Cubs are any more dangerous than the Braves and Giants. Plus, if the Astros make it, who cares? They ALWAYS lose in the first round, we'd never see them, it'd just give the Braves an easier road.

If the Cubs make the playoffs they have a huge advantage because of their top 3, and pitching wins in the playoffs, that's why I hope they don't make it. I'd much rather face the braves in the NLCS, than the Cubs.

Does home-field still revert to best-record in the NLCS, even if we're the Wild Card? Then playing the Cubs gives us home field and yes, they have a great top 3, but ours isn't too shabby. Basically, I guess my point is at this point, I'm not scared of anybody with this team, I don't think we need to dodge anyone.

we would be the wildcard so we wont have home-field advantage in any of the NL playoff series

Yeah, I don't know why I thought it reverted, looked it up after I posted it...by the way, that's a stupid rule. If we've got the better record, we should have home-field and I'm not just saying that because it's us. :whistle

Seriously though, doesn't make much sense to me. No one can justify to me why we shouldn't be the three seed, we have the better record in the better division. Rules are rules though, I guess.
