Even though our Fish were rained out in New York, all was not lost yesterday.

Of those teams ahead of us in the wildcard, Philadelphia lost, as did Cincinnati, Houston, Milwaukee, Arizona and San Diego so we picked up a half game against them. And three teams (besides Philly) in the NL East also, Washington, Atlanta and the Mets.

The upside is we have more games to play (and thus more opportunities to improve our record) than any other team in the NL. The downside of course most of those games will be made up in doubleheaders and depending on your point of view that can be either a good or bad thing.

Yep :thumbup . The Marlins have to win atleast one game today. We dont want to lose a game and a half if someone wins. I have a feeling that yesterdays game was rained out for a reason; so we can see Anibal Sanchez.

The multiple double-headers are potentially to our advantage as we agreed on (it was you right?) in a thread a week back. Woulda been nice if we took a 1-0 lead into the 6th and then it got cancelled :shifty

Well the canceling of the game probably save Johnson ERA. With the field wet and our defense sometimes get ugly and a wet ball Johnson going have to pitch with = BOOM!!!

uh...with a wet ball its harder to do everything, pitch, hit, field, etc. so johnson's era probably wouldnt have been effected...but honestly...no one really cares about his era as long as he gets the win and keeps our fishies in games
