SportsCenter
When we play the Giants in the Playoffs what would be ur Lineup ? Mines is : Juan Pierre - CF Luis Castillo - 2B Pudge Rodriguez - C Derrek Lee - 1B Miguel Cabrera - SS Mike Lowell - 3B (since he will not be 100% after missing 2 weeks) Juan Encarnacion - RF Jeff Conine - LF Pitcher - Beckett , Redman , Penny , Willis

Ramp
Id love to have Cabs at SS, but i doubt that is in their plans.... and Mike may not play in the NLDS....
SportsCenter
Miguel Cabrera shortstop? What are you smoking? nothing ? i would put Cabrera in SS , 1st - that he natural position , 2nd - Alex cant hit a water melon with a gauitar , 3rd - just put Cabs in SS vs the Mets since this seires doesnt really matter and lets see what he does and you never know

Trust me, I'm not an Alex Gonzalez fan. But Miguel outgrew short a ways back. It would be like learning a new position for him and we don't need the goofups he had in left when he was learning the position at short which is one of the most important defensive positions on the field. Throw into this the simple little fact that it would be the playoffs. Maybe next season.
Arnie1941
You don't experiment with the 6-4-3 double play now!!! Or the 4-6-3. My God.

Ramp
SC, we havent clinched yet..... and i like your idea, unfortunately its not gonna happen

I just don't buy the whole "he outgrew the position" bull. When is Arod gonna outgrow it? Arod - 6'3 210lbs. Cabs - 6'2 185lbs.
Backstop30
Gonzalez is way too good, defensively, to even consider this (IMO).
Guest Juanky
Gonzalez is way too good, defensively, to even consider this (IMO). Welcome And by outgrew I don't mean physically, I mean baseball wise. He's been stuck in two different positions for 4 years now and trust me shortstop is not the easiest position in the world to learn.
SportsCenter
Gonzalez is way too good, defensively, to even consider this (IMO). who gives a F**** bout his D ? You need the bat more than the glove , Everytime he comes to hit there man in scoring position and everytime he K's , So why even start him ? Either Start Cabs at SS or Mordi
JMLinkinPark
Juan Pierre Luis Castillo Pudge Mike Lowell Derrek Lee Miguel Cabrera Juan Encarnacion Alex Gonzalez Pitcher Conine seems to be only Hitting the Phillies... But you could switch Cabs and Conine every Game... Also you can sometimes switch LC and JP's spots in the lineup (the fish did this i think in one of there last 3 games)
Backstop30
who gives a F**** bout his D ? SS is hardly one of the positions where a player with defensive deficiencies can be "hidden" in a lineup. In games of the magnitude of the playoffs I don't want some guy making a mistake because he wasn't 110% comfortable, or he wasn't 110% certain of what his responsibilities were on that particular play. I say, Gonzo is the playoff SS without question.
Ramp
yea, you are right Backstop30..... it just isnt worth a botched DP or something like that
JBurque
I agree that Agon should be the SS the rest of the way. I just think if Cabs was there, he'd be fine. You don't forget how to play your "natural" position.
AJBurnett34
who gives a F**** bout his D ? How much more you want from a light hitting short stop with 75 RBI's and 17 Homeruns. His Defense is very important to us. Dont you see all these Impossible double plays he turns and all the dives to keep the runners from scoring. Nielsosky
Miggy at SS? I like the idea of maybe having Cabs play SS next year and have A-Gon as a late inning defensive replacement, but I think that Cabs should have a whole Spring Training to adjust. There is no way I want to just jump in to the playoffs against posibly the best team in baseball experimenting! My Playoff Lineup: 1) Juan Pierre--CF 2) Luis Castillo--2nd 3) Ivan Rodriguez--C 4) Mike Lowell--3rd 5) Juan Encarnacion--RF 6) Derrek Lee--1st 7) Miguel Cabrera/Jeff Conine--LF 8) Alex Gonzalez--SS Rotation: 1) Josh Beckett 2) Mark Redman 3) Brad Penny 4) Dontrelle Willis Bullpen: Closer--Ugueth Urbina Set-Up--Chad Fox Long Reliever--Carl Pavano Other Relievers--Braden Looper, Nate Bump, Mike Tejera
Ramp
if for some chance that Cabs can play SS next year, dont expect Alex to be on the roster
MarlinLover2003
1) Juan Pierre #9 2) Luis Castillo #1 3) Pudge #7 4) D. Lee #25 5) Jeff Conine #18 6) Juan Encarnacion #43 7) Mike Lowell #19 (probably not 100 %) 8) Alex Gonzalez #11 9) PITCHER
