AAA All-Star Game

Featured Replies

I'm running it for my station in Richmond.....Riveting stuff so far :plain

I have been watching it a little bit. Denorfia (who many here have speculated the Marlins will trade for) just got his first hit of the night (grounder through the right side) in the bottom of the 5th. He was/is the starting leadoff hitter for the International League All-Star team. He has an interesting stance. He keeps the bat away held away from his body but has a quick swing. Seems to play pretty solid defense in CF. I wouldn't mind if the Marlins gave this guy a shot.

Andino's in the game as a fielder.

Andino is up now with James Loney on 1st and 2 outs

and he grounded up to Upton

thrilling game :plain

Denorfia's line really doesn't reflect how well he hit the ball tonight.

In one of the early innings he hit a rocket down the third base line which the 3rd baseman backhanded very deep in the hole, and trying to at least get the guy going into second, made an errant throw which was score an error.

Had no one been on Denorfia would have easily beaten it out.

He also looked terrific in center, with fluid movement and appears to get a good jump on the ball. All in all he looked about as major league ready as anyone out there tonight.

I agree Denorfia looked great, him along with Haeger and Phillips, very impressive.

Denorfia is a pretty solid all-around player. He has decent speed and puts the bat on the ball which is evidenced by his low number strike outs per at bats. Jorgy says he can really rake.
