Then in the 8th, with a chance to take the lead off of Aaron Heilman, he hit a flyout to the wall after getting booed as he walked up to the plate. This was almost like something out of a movie.

Padres-Mets pulled a 5.7 rating (over 420,000 households) and was the highest rated Mets telecast on a regional sports network since the Sept. 21, 2001 Mets-Braves game. That game, broadcast on FSNY, featured perhaps Piazza's signature Met moment, when he homered off Steve Karsay to lift the Mets over the Braves in the first game played in the city after 9/11. SNY's previous high was a 5.3 for Mets-Red Sox on June 29.
