A Furious gardener dangled a girl of 12 over a railway bridge after she accidentally touched his newly-planted saplings, a court heard yesterday.

 

Alan Wilson, 67, allegedly went berserk when the girl and two friends sat down on a strip of land where he had planted three young trees.

 

She told York crown court: "He said 'You are evil.' He grabbed my trousers and leaned me over the bridge. He said 'I could kill you.' I kept saying sorry."

 

Retired engineer Wilson denies assault. He does not own the land near his home in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorks, but has adopted it as a garden, the court heard. The case continues.
