Because of games postponed by rain, we had to play 23 games in 20 days or something to that effect. The team couldn't overcome it.

Hitting. It shut down in mid-August. Starting pitcher found new energy and carried us back into the race until they reverted back to their 5 or 6-inning performances which combined with a weak bullpen and tough schedule to leave us limping towards the end of the season.

It was true: No I-Rod, no clutch hitting! The Delgado somewhat gave us an orinary lineup in 2005 though.

The 2005 team struggled just as much if not more in the clutch than the 2004 club. I recall that the late-inning offense rarely showed up.

I honestly believe that if we didn't have to sit for three days while on absolute fire, and then lose a home match, go into chicago and have to start Logan Kensing we'd have snuck in.
